Her father? You mean the guy who loves Bush and Rove and hates Palin?

That's the one.

“I wish Liz Cheney would primary Cornyn and leave Enzi alone.”

I guess it would be because Cheney is from Wyoming, ya think?
That said, Enzi has had his shot and needs to go along with any Senator with more than two terms. Someone else needs to primary Cornyn, and the Tea Party needs to disavow this turd who’s helping him. It’s a disgrace that there are people in the Tea Party that are as bad as those RINOS and RATS we need to oust. Cornyn is a consummate RINO. The Tea Party is a noble venture. Sadly, because it’s grass roots, it suffers from this kind of infection.

Yeah, and Hillary was from New York. Cheney was raised in Virginia, educated in Colorado and Illinois, lived in Virginia virtually all her adult life. For all practical purposes her connection with Wyoming is about 6 months old. She should have run against Warner for the Virginia seat. She has actual roots there.

That said, Enzi has had his shot and needs to go along with any Senator with more than two terms.

There are a lot of senators who need to be primaried a lot more than Enzi.

No question, but if there’s a viable candidate, why not? Utah did a good thing getting rid of Bennett and replacing him with Mike Lee. Last year, they blew it and let Urine Hatch go for another six. So what does he do, vote for amnesty.
Change is good for our side too.

Oh hell no. We don't want her ilk down here. We'll find someone else to beat Cornyn.

Mike Lee has strong connections with Utah, Cheney doesn't have the same with Wyoming. She should be in Virginia planning to knock off Warner. She's lived there most of her life.

I guess you really like Enzi! Today a lot of candidates are carpetbaggers. Nothing prevents Cheney from establishing residency and running anywhere she chooses. I guess you just wish it weren’t in Wyoming, is that right? Most people in the Congress don’t even go home for visits. They all live in MD or VA, and are actual residents of those states.

I don't dislike Enzi.

Well then if we're going to call a spade a spade, and label Cheney a carpetbagger then why not have her carpetbag in states where she could do some good? Run against Lindsey Graham, for example. Or governor of Texas. Open seat in my own state of Nebraska.

What I object to is that it looks like Cheney wants a senate seat but doesn't want to work for it. Let's face it, the winner of the Republican primary in Wyoming will be the next senator. She figures she can come in with a boatload of money, knock of Enzi, and waltz into Washington. Which is, I think, why she is not running for the Virginia seat, in spite of the fact she's lived there almost all her life. Warner is beatable, but it will still be a real nasty, knock-down, drawn-out battle and I don't think she wants that. So she's taking what she sees as the easy route. I don't see that as a point in her favor.

“I don’t dislike Enzi.”

Enzi has been a Senator since 1997. That’s long enough. And he’s 70 years old, that’s old enough to retire. Cheney grew up in Wyoming. Her family was in politics there and she has name identity. Why would she go to some state where she has none of those favorables to run? I mean you suggest MD! Really, that state is probably the most liberal in the nation today. She’d not have a chance there. Ditto for the other states you mention. My wife has a HS classmate who is a self-admitted RINO state legislator in Wyoming, so to suggest that all is well with conservatism in Wyoming just isn’t true. And the fact of the matter is, he’s a carpetbagger too since he didn’t grow up in Wyoming.

Cheney grew up in Wyoming.

Liz Cheney grew up in Virginia. Her dad worked in DC and in the Nixon and Ford administrations from the time she was 2 or 3. He wasn't even elected to Congress until she was 12, and she continued her education in Virginia schools all the way through high school. That's what I meant when I said she has longer, deeper roots in Virginia than anywhere else.

Her family was in politics there and she has name identity.

Her father has name identity. She's running on that alone.

I mean you suggest MD!

I don't think I suggested Maryland because there isn't a seat up for election in 2012. But I did suggest Virginia, since she's lived there for decades. What's wrong with her running there?

And the fact of the matter is, he’s a carpetbagger too since he didn’t grow up in Wyoming.

Enzi has lived in Wyoming for over 40 years. I doubt Cheney has lived there for 40 weeks.

“Enzi has lived in Wyoming for over 40 years.”

So does that mean that he’s been a good Senator? Maybe he has, but this business of lifetime “service” needs to stop. The FF’s never intended for the Enzi’s of the country to settle in and make being a Senator a lifetime proposition. There was a time when Hatch was a good senator, ditto for Lugar (they both started the same day and have been there almost 40 years), but as they got older, they ran out of ideas and their main goal was to stay in their cushy jobs for the rest of their lives, lying to their constituents or more importantly working against their interests. The Senate is a disgrace. Do we really want death to be the way we change our leaders? Just look at how many Senate seats have changed in the past couple of years due to death! The Lautencorpse, the Hawaiian Twins, The old coot from WVA! A year ago, I looked at the Senate and found that the top twenty Senators had a total of 518 years of “serivice,” Is that what you want?

I don't think he's been a bad one. Certainly nowhere near as bad as Warner or Graham.
