Dick Durbin thinks the GOP needs to step up and help change and improve Obamacare.
Hell no.
In fact, I am disappointed with John Boehner and the House GOP wanting to delay implementation of the individual mandate. I think Obamacare needs to go forward as designed by the Democrats. I think someone should sue the Obama Administration over delaying the employer mandate. It should happen on schedule.
Obamacare is a train wreck of epic proportions. It will ruin the economy, drive individuals into full time part time status as employees, harm small businesses, and make Americans more and more dependent on the federal government as slaves to the entitlement state while ballooning our national debt.
The American public voted for Barack Obama twice. They should be made to care about the policy choices they have enabled by having those policies go into effect exactly as the Democrats intended.
There can be no fixing. There can be no tweaking. There should be no delaying. There should only be defunding and repealing of the whole awful mess.
Republicans are under no obligation to mend what they were sent to Washington to end. Instead, let the American public see big government operate as Democrats designed it.
Any person calling themselves a Republican (which used to be considered a Conservative organization, but now is a water carrier for the damned Democrats) who pays any attention to what Little Dick the Plick suggests or thinks is just a dumbass. You can put lipstick on a Durbin... but he's still a pig.
America is moving pell mell into third country status and perhaps a revolution is in our future; it could peaceful or violent, but at this point what else will stop the rapid statism and restore our once great nation to the point that it is pleasing to live, work, worship and play here?
I think if you believe something is bad you should stop it.
It is wrong to hurt people more to make a political point. YOU need to fix the problem and point out why.
We have to be creative thinking, not competition to want the best for everyone -
Obama took and oath to faithfully execute the laws of the United States, not just the parts of the law he likes or wants to for political expediency.
"I will employ my strength for the welfare of the German people, protect the Constitution and laws of the German people, conscientiously discharge the duties imposed on me, and conduct my affairs of office impartially and with justice to everyone."
Okay, I’ve got a change and improve strategy: repeal every part of it except for the establishment of state exchanges, and change the specification of the policies they must offer from whatever the SecHSS directs to a policy that covers an annual physical with a small amount of attendant lab work and otherwise provides high-deductible coverage, specifically exclude any coverage for abortions except in the case of threat to the life of the mother which in the judgement of three physicians cannot be allieviated by caesarian delivery, and let each of the several states decide how to handle prescriptions once the deductible is met (including whether to cover contraceptives). There, see, we worked with the other party and kept part of the unworkable law they rammed through without reading.
Just abolish it
Great plan.
Wonder if Bonehead watches this site?
The only way to fix Obamacare is to slap a DNR on it and pull the plug.
DOA would be nice.
I didn’t read the article (I’m not a Congress member!)...BUT, I think that if Boehner and party want the individual mandate to take effect when the employer mandate does, Congress needs to make a law that we are not going to continue to treat people for free at hospitals and clinics! Sorry, but most can and should be able to afford high deductible catastrophic coverage for themselves and their family. SINCE we have lost that ethical principle in America, THEN those who decide not to pay something for coverage until they need Medicaid will pay with what they own. This is harsh but I know way too many who think health insurance is too high and brag that they’ve avoided it for DECADES and when something happens they cry on my shoulder about the Medicaid papers and how they’ve had to hide their money and property.
Otherwise we all will lose big soon.
"These," he would say, "need radiator cap jobs."
I looked at him quizzically and he'd explain: "Save the radiator cap, but drive the rest of it to the junkyard."
It isn't coming back. You can't put the toothpaste back in the tube.
Oh, come on, the only market-based part of Obamacare — the state exchanges — are comparable to the fuel pump, not a radiator cap. Still, I like your older brother’s joke.
