It’ll be a black national holiday. Think Walmart without security guards.

(and I got this lamp during the Rodney King riots, this rug from the OJ riots and I got this stereo system from the Trayvon riots)

“...liberal hippy judge...” She has definitely been in favor of the prosecution, but that's why she replaced the original judge. Several defense attorneys, including Jose Baez, attorney for Casey Anthony, have all said this is a ridiculous case. Baez was asked if Zimmerman could be convicted, and he said, “under THIS judge, it's possible” (emphasis mine). Considering all of this, if the verdict comes down as “guilty”, couldn't the defense ask for a mistrial? Certainly, one would hope, they would appeal.

As stunned as I was by a verdict exonerating O.J.?

That trial turned out to be the ultimate illustration of what happens when people forget the basics and wander off in all kinds of directions. My stepdaughter was convinced there was no way O.J. could be guilty. I tried to break it down for her by telling her there were only two real possibilities, one was that he was guilty as I was convinced, the only other was that a group of law enforcement people who didn’t even know each other when they first learned of this double homicide decided on the spot to frame someone who was at that time very well known and very popular and they made that decision while knowing that to frame someone for murder in California carried the death penalty. How could anyone believe that scenario?

Some put forth all kinds of other theories but they are just forgetting the basics. The evidence was such that if O.J. was not proven guilty then NO ONE ever has been proven guilty. For him to be not guilty a huge mass of evidence would have had to be faked, including the DNA tests.

I still remember O.J. later on TV saying that you could take the position that they tried to frame a GUILTY man or that they tried to frame an innocent man but, “You gotta admit that somebody tried to frame me.” It was one of the most absurd statements I have ever heard.

The meeting was June 9th. The “retards” can’t remember anything more than 24 hours.

How does his mother get to take the stand tomorrow after having sat through the entire trial thus far?

That's an EXCELLENT question! I'm really curious about the answer.

“Verdict by (threat of) riot” is not justice...it’s simply terrorism. The use of violence to achieve a political end can be described as nothing else.

Either we learn an effective way to contain these social temper tantrums, or we become a third world country, under mob rule.

Fear of street mob violence by officers of the court stains the justice system, endangers the public, and makes a mockery out of the trial process.

The riot rules should be that looters and vandals will be shot on sight. The threat of a couple of nights in jail will not deter rioters. Mobs cannot be controlled by negotiation, as the reason they riot is because the didn’t get their way.

As long as we shiver in our boots at the though, or threat, of a riot, the justice system, as well as the election process will not work...and without those, America is doomed.

I think this judge has been egregiously biased in her handling of this case.

From the allowance of Zimmeran’s past (pre-shooting conduct) to disallowance of Traydmark (I stole this from another FReeper) Martin’s past, to allowing family members to be present throughout the trial and THEN be allowed to testify, and on and on.

Frankly, if I were Zimmerann’s attorney, I would demand proceedings be initiated to remove her from the bench and to declare any verdicts resulting from her administration of justice for the trial.

It was in reply to a post which expressed a lack of sympathy for Trayvon. I agreed, and made the point that from the Trayvons-those willing, even eager, to take up a life of crime-come future criminals such as the New Jersey incident.

You are correct. I also live on the MS Gulf Coast. My stepsons and husband stood watch in shifts, with arms, to watch over our property, both personal and business, and that of the neighbors who had evacuated. My older stepson actually chased off one would-be looter who tried to steal a bicycle from the neighbor’s garage.

Oh, okay. I’m still not sure I get the connection, but it’s not important. Thanks for the reply, though.

We had very similar situations. We were at the time... under Martial Law. A friend was staying in his business and shot at looters trying to break into my business. They never returned. In a very rural area north of the Coast; I had to back 4 methheads down a 1500 foot driveway with an AR-15 (screw you obama) and told them that if I saw them again... I would shoot all four of them without warning. They arrested these thugs a week later for killing an innocent citizen. Sometimes I think I made a mistake allowing them to leave but I was not in fear for my life... I was better armed and trained than these monsters. Still... it bothers me to this day.

Riots will only last for less than 30 short minutes or until the trunk is full.

Don’t blame yourself. In cases like that, it’s better to err on the side of not having to shoot. You can’t know the future in a case like that. And even though MS is great on Second Amendment rights (when the ‘rats aren’t trying to throw monkey wrenches into the works), and on self-defense issues, in these days, one never knows how things will play out if some over-zealous official decides to play with your life for his purposes. They were a threat at the moment, you couldn’t shoot them for the future.

All in all though, I like my chances in MS if I ever had to shoot (excluding Jackson). My stepson has had reason to shoot at our business in past years, and everything was OK.

Well seeing what is happening to GZ should make you realize you could have been in the same position. I guess it depends on where you live. My neighbor (in Ga.) was robbed - her husband came home as the FIFTEEN year old was driving off with their guns, jewelry, etc. and followed him to his house - called 911. ONE WEEK LATER the same kid was trying to break into her house with a concrete block - while she was at home~~ In court (IN FRONT OF THE JUDGE and his worthless mother) she told him if he came on her property again she would shoot to kill.... the judge did not admonish her or say a word.

OH and the “mother” hired a high priced Atlanta lawyer who tried to argue that they couldn’t PROVE he did it - in spite of eye witness, cops found some of the items in his house, etc. etc. He got probation :(

I say that is the root of the problem right there - the mom is trying to shield him instead of correcting the behavior...

Just post signs, RIOTERS WILL BE SHOT!

Just don’t write them in cursive.
