Ever increasing taxes to pay for the central government's profligate spending.
Crippling restrictions on free trade.
Central government dictates on land usage.
Tax policy used to affect social outcomes.
Spying on citizens by the central government.
Government officials becoming wealthy as a result of their own policies.
Bureaucrats in a far-off city making laws contrary to the benefit of the people being governed.
Sound familiar?
Two hundred thirty seven years ago a group of men gathered to say enough was enough. They were tired of working to enrich others, the seemingly arbitrary increases in taxes, the erosion of personal freedoms.
These men did more than just speak out. The took a stand. They risked execution for their treasons. They knew, if unsuccessful, they would be imprisoned, their land and other assets taken by the state. They were vilified in the press - gross caricatures accompanied newspaper articles. They were accused of being disloyal and worse.
They took a stand! They said 'No more'! They risked it all for the concept that men should be free of government interference in their lives.
Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness...
Life - unless you're an unwanted baby or an elderly person needing expensive treatments.
Liberty - never mind the gathering of your email and phone calls, the dictates on how you interact with your physician, the demonization of anyone who even asks 'Isn't there a better way?'
Pursuit of Happiness - as long as you wear a helmet, read the nutritional facts, are over 21, have the right insurance, don't offend anyone else... and make sure you pay you taxes so the unproductive can pursue happiness also (at the expense of your own).
So, I ask again, who will stand up to tyranny? Is it you? Is it me? Are we ready to risk everything for the good of the nation? Or do we give a weak nod to the men who had the foresight to fight for freedom, throw another hot dog on the grill, and say 'I don't want to make waves'?
Happy Independence Day!
Not enough.
“Don’t fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here.”
My strategy is to let it implode.
I am a foe to tyrants, and my country’s friend.
How does one “take a stand”? There is no soldier marching through town as there was when the Revolutionary War began. http://www.revolutionarywararchives.org/lexington.html
Now, there is no physical target - everything is virtual. Fighting back then becomes NOT participating. Going Galt. But that saves ourselves, not our country.
So once again I ask, How?
That is probably the best strategy. Let the marxists collapse our social and cultural system, let the banks collapse the economy. Though there will be a lot of heartache for us it will likely be the least costly - and more importantly - quickest way to restore Constitutional government in this country.

I concur. I doubt it will take the self-styled "progressives" very long to finish wrecking everything they touch.
Revolt is coming.
What we are now seeing in Egypt with these protests will more likely happen to this country as early as this coming fall.
I see an “American fall” coming.
The problem is what our country might lose during the process. Remember that China owns a whole bunch of our debt. It gets complicated with long term ramifications.
Yep. My strategy: survive to be one of those that helps the phoenix rise from the ashes. Sadly, there must be ashes first. But I don’t need to help them with that. When they run out of OPM it will happen on its own.
And as you say, it will be difficult for all of us. I moved to my small farm in central KY in the spirit of Revelation 18:4.
There were many signs of resistance before the fighting began, but the fighting began when they came for the guns, canons and powder. Short of a SHTF, that’s how it will start this time. They know it, and are weakening us and monitoring us meanwhile in anticipation.
Only about a third of the populace was onboard with the Revolution, if I recall correctly, another third pro-Brit, and a third neutral. Only three percent of the population actually fought.
One “takes a stand” on the soap box and at the ballot box, if one thinks that effective, while preparing the ammo box. One studies who the enemy is, their strengths and weaknesses, how they are deployed, their resources and lines of supply and communication, their tactics and strategies, and one anticipates active and passive strategies to resist and disrupt them. One travels arounds, in person, off the grid, and meets neighbors and others in the community, and carefully, informally, finds those to connect with when the time comes. One gets in shape, physically, mentally and spiritually. One girds ones loins. One waits. Until the time comes, that’s how one takes a stand.
The one downside of this strategy is what happens as things begin to fall apart and the Marxists seize absolute power? They will start sending conservatives, Christians, etc. to the gulags.
When the system implodes, it will not be a peaceful outcome. Never in human history as societal collapse been peaceful.
Constitutionalists prevailing on the back side of such an event is far from a given.
The Egyptians are standing up to tyranny.
The Egyptians are standing up to tyranny.

Worth repeating!
To quote The History of the World...
Sir, the peasants are revolting.
You’re telling me, they stink on ice!
