Those who attack American culture and tradition should recall that historically, freedom and prosperity are the aberrations, not servitude and poverty. Our nation's success is not a happy accident or part of a natural, unstoppable progression that can't be changed. Nothing could be more foolish than to abandon the traditions, religion, work ethic, family structure, moral code and culture that made this country wealthy and free while expecting to continue to reap the rewards of practices we now scorn as too demanding and judgmental. What we sow as a nation, we should expect to reap and the crop these days isn't looking very good.
1) The CBO estimates that the interest payments on our debt alone will take up 36% of the budget in 2030, 58 percent in 2040 and 85 percent in 2050.
2) Fears that America would go bankrupt in the next few years used to be a fringe belief. Now, Doomsday Preppers is a TV show, gold, guns and survival seeds are being widely advertised and vast numbers of Americans are making decisions about purchases, investments, and saving money that take into account the possibility that the country could bankrupt within the next decade or two.

Really? Of all those problems, I see no space program as the LEAST of all concerns.
(Unless of course, you see living in space someday soon as a viable alternative to living in what this country is becoming.)

I’d say the article covered about everything, except for the legal sanctions for sexual degeneracy this week. All great nations collapse eventually- we are just on a more rapid pace than some.

In addition....Austin, TX is in a severe water crisis, yet, they are one in 17 cities in the USA that invite illegals to their community openly. Their budgets for city services and schools are a burden to taxpayers, mainly due to the illegals working for the libs for cheap and then using the free services offered.
Send 22 million illegals home and we’d have much more water and thinner budgets. Allow REAL immigration by strict quotos like we used to and limit family to say 3. Make English the national language so we do not have to interpret voting and other legal proceedings in 20 or more languages so everyone can understand how to vote “D”!!!

2) Christians and conservatives send their children into GODLESS secular schools to be indoctrinated daily by teachers trained by godless MARXISTS. When in these indoctrination centers the children WILL learn to think and reason godlessly. They must just to cooperate in the classroom.
In the first case the bodies of children are murdered. In the second case it is the soul that is attacked. 85% of children from highly active evangelical homes fail to be active in their faith 2 years after graduated from government high school. In contrast, 95% of homeschoolers are active.

Maybe this was trying to convey that the US doesn’t currently have way to get astronauts into space.
We currently have astronauts on the International Space Station (ISS), living and working in space. So technically, we do have a manned space program...just not a rocket to sustain it...we are at the mercy of another country.
Although my initial reaction to the decline in the manned space program was one of little concern, it then occurred to me that the NASA programs from Mercury through the Space Shuttle were not only important sources of technological innovation but also played a historic role in America’s defense. The programs produced advances in electronic, computer technology, and other technologies that are profound. The programs were born out of military technology and personnel and sent messages to our friends and enemies around the world that the U.S. was the leader in technology and power. The U.S. showed it could catch up to the USSR’s space lead in the late 50’s, a lead built on captured and copied technology, and race beyond to take the lead and leave all others far behind. The U.S.’s technological lead and economic power was instrumental in the collapse of the USSR.
In 1965, our young people went to college and became a leading technological workforce, confident in their understanding of science and math and thriving in a competitive culture.
In 2013, our young people reach college age knowing they “can’t do math”—wallowing in a culture of baby birds whose genitalia and skin color are the foundations for decision making.
Although it is debatable whether the expenditures for the space programs were an appropriate use of taxpayers’ money, it is clear that many of today’s expenditures of taxpayers’ money by the government are not only undesirable but destructive. Will Americans in a few years’ time think it is worthwhile to work 80+ percent of the time only to pay off the debts of the spendthrift government or will they simply refuse to pay and let the value of the currency decline precipitously? Will the result be any different either way? I can look to many countries around the world and see the answer. In those countries, the citizens want to leave to come to the U.S. When they arrive, instead of teaching them in the ways of freedom and prosperity, we encourage them to join the baby birds. We even give preference to those who are least able to understand prosperity and are most certain to be baby birds.
Yup. A Carte Blanche to usurp the Constitution and take away the very liberties it purportedly serves to protect. A more cynically titled act of law could not have been more imagined.
