Just called my Texas Congressman and talked to a nice young man who was very interested/concerned to hear about them being blocked from attending the immigration rally/press conference. Asked him to see if my congressman could look into it.

To paraphrase Ronald Reagan “WE PAID FOR THAT LAWN!”
How are they going to bar the folks from going from one rally to another?
They have the right to freely assemble and the right of association and the right to free speech.
Besides, this is “no trouble” crowd, not OWS.

Capital storm troopers.
Police state.

“UPDATE: According to Mooneyhan and Breitbart News’ Matthew Boyle, the Capitol Hill police have now backed off their attempts to block activists from attending the immigration rally.”
It seems the pressure has gotten to the Capitol police.

I’m going to cut the Capitol Police a little slack on this one since they’ve backed off. They’re used to keeping crowds of opposed protestors and rallies apart for sake of maintaining the peace. It sounds like once they realized these were allied rallies they let them merge.

This is why you shouldn’t bother with obtaining permits for these assemblies. That’s how OWS got away with it.
When you accept the permit process, you accept their rules, like a contract.
However, if you just show up, there’s nothing they can do about it because there’s no “contract” that applies and the only thing that does is the right to assemble.

The activists' presence at the immigration event on the east side, supposedly violates the terms of the Tea Party's permit. Yes, but does it violate the terms of the congress-critters' press conference permit?

The activists' presence at the immigration event on the east side, supposedly violates the terms of the Tea Party's permit. Permit? Do you now need a permit to demonstrate at the Capitol? I'll bet Code Pink, ANSWER, Occupy, MoveOn, etc. don't bother to ask for permits.
To: penelopesire
Organize a Tea Party demonstration in the same place and the same numbers.Let pro wetback groups know the details in advance.See if the cops do anything to keep the wetbacks at bay.Document everything!

Supercilious officiousness.
