While liberal news media might have 25 million viewers, and Fox News has roughly 2.5-3 million viewers, over 95% of Fox News views listen to the content of the news, while less than 5% of liberal news viewers listen to anything other than their political bias.

The news service isn’t an entertainment media, but an information reporting service. It’s to report both the popular and unpopular news, not a propaganda theme.

"...man you have got to represent everybody’s views and have got to give them the impression that you are being as honest as you know how to be.”

Instead of really being honest to them, you have to give them the impression that you're being honest, whether you are or not.

I thought newscasters/networks were supposed to report "the news", not represent it. We elect people to represent our views. They're called politicians. I thought news people were a different breed. Doesn't seem so these days.

Network news gets these ratings because their viewers are lazy to change the channel after Wheel of Fortune.

I was unaware that the GOPe endorse Red John FTA Kerry, a man who lied to Congress about witnessing and committing warcrimes.

True, until I read this article I didnt know Scott Pelley was the CBS anchor.

However, one reason they are still around is they get a subscriber fee from cable fees. So even if you dont watch, they get paid.

A la carte cable is the answer but cable companies will not move until people cut their cable and say they will come back when there is a la carte. How many people will do this?

Cable free since 2006

These Network Nimrods are still living in the fantasyland that they have so many viewers because they are so popular. What they fail or refuse to understand is that a fairly large American demographic watches them only because they have no other choice. In many markets, Fox is available by cable or satellite subscription only, whereas the network news parrots are available to anyone with rabbit ear antenna on up.

I wonder how many people don’t watch CBS news BECAUSE OF Scott Pelley...not a few I think, to say nothing of the lies, distortions and odious general content of the whole network.

a fool in paradise: “I was unaware that the GOPe endorse Red John FTA Kerry...”

Maybe not, but I was only making the point that Fox is more closely aligned with the GOPe in general than it’s aligned with conservatives. I believe that’s a reasonably accurate assessment.

I can actually boast that I never watched ANY evening news cast from the 3 obama propaganda alphabet channels for the past 6 years.

Unfortunately when I’m at the airport, CNN is the channel there but thank God for wifi I can manage to go online and listen to my own stuff.

A low information newsreader for the low information voter.

Hmmmmm...could be a business model there.

Of course he is right, conservatives are 1/10 of “normal” people-ask any liberal.

If Fox only has 200,000-300,000 viewers, it is 200,000-300,000 MORE than SeeBS!

I'd say that I was never going to watch Scott Pelley again, except that I have never watched Scott Pelley.

I can't remember the last time I watched C BS, N BC, or A BC, news. Is “The Huntley Brinkley Report” still on? How about Howard K. Smith and Harry Reasoner? What about “The Walter Compton News” on the Dumont Television Network?

The smirk on Pelley’s face in that picture, for some reason, reminds me of that socialist kook Lawrence O’Donnell on CNN. Does anyone else see the similarity? That very look on his face reeks of arrogance towards anyone he deems lesser than himself, which means anyone not a liberal.

Twenty million get misinformation every day. Not good.

What's more troubling is that most everybody under 30 gets their misinformation from progressive controlled internet portals.
