Syria Militants Massacre Christian Village Population
Syria Report ^ | 12 Jun 2013 5

Posted on 06/14/2013 11:50:58 PM PDT by Mount Athos

More details of a massacre in Homs late last month have emerged following the global outcry of a massacre in Deir el-Zour yesterday.

The massacre, carried out by Free Syrian Army militants reportedly targeted men, women and children in the Christian village of al-Duwayr/Douar close to the city of Homs and the border with Lebanon. The incident received little media attention, having occurred at the same time as thousands of Syrian troops converged on the insurgent-occupied town of al-Qusayr.

According to sources, around 350 heavily armed militants entered the village, broke into homes and assembled residents in the main square of the village where they were executed. The final death toll is not known but photos show severe damage to property in the village.

Syrian army sources said that they reached the village after the massacre, resulting in clashes with militants. Sources also reported that Turkish and Chechen extremists were among the perpetrators. Chechen militants are known to have kidnapped two Christian bishops in Aleppo earlier this year. The following images show al-Duwayr/Douar village after the massacre:

Conditions for ethnic and religious minorities have been made increasingly worse as Free Syrian Army affiliated organisations including Jabhat al-Nusra increase ethnic and sectarian cleansing across Syria. Kidnappings, executions and assassinations are common.

Late last month, around the time of the massacre in Homs, a fifteen year old girl was kidnapped by militants in Damascus, who demanded $100,000 for her release. Miryam Jbeil, a niece Damascus-based Catholic priest Nader Jbeil, was released after a number of days in captivity.

In the aftermath of the Syrian army assault on al-Qusayr, the church was discovered to have been desecrated by Free Syrian Army militants.... [more photos here]

Even more reason for this administration to get behind them. “You had us at al Qaeda!” they exclaimed.

One of the most dispiriting things about our involvement in Iraq was our total, I mean total indifference to the fate of the ancient Christian community in that country. That is why the pope was against the invasion, because he knew that the Muslims were primed for a war against Christians in the Middle East. Bush could have given Christians the protection of the US forces, could have but did nothing. Maybe he figured he couldn’t, not long term, that he had opened pandora’s box.

So a religion based on murder, rape and plunder is murdering, raping and plundering? At least Obama’s consistent, he supports the destruction of liberty at every turn.

I never thought I’d ever find myself rooting for Bashir Assad of Syria and Sovietist Vladimir Putin.

Did you know Assad is an opthamologist? Maybe he can help America’s myopia.

Check these quotes from McCain.

Hawkish US lawmakers welcomed the administration's change in position, but Senator John McCain said the president needed to go further.

"We need heavy weaponry. We need the kind that can counter tanks, and we need surface-to-air missiles," he said.

Hey John, who the heck is we ?

Let's see if I've got this right...
1. The U.S. has been fighting al Qaeda and the Taliban in Iraq and Afghanistan.
2. The “rebels” fighting Assad in Syria are linked to al Qaeda.
3. Syria is backed by Russia to keep Assad in power.
4. The Saudis, helped by the Americans and Turks, are helping the al Qaeda against Assad.
5. The al Qaeda “allies” of Obama are murdering Syrian Christians.
6. What in the hell are we doing in this mess?

More Americans have been killed in Afghanistan under obama than during all the previous years put together.

Obama funded Muslim extremist terrorists to murder Christian children in Syria.

I am rooting for Russia to kick Al quedas ass and the CIA supply line. God will have to defend the Christian children against the American Muslim terrorist murder machine using whatever is available to protect the Christians.

Putin is not a Sovietist.

He's an imperialist.

Consider the cover of the passport of the Russian Federation. It is the Imperial Crest of the Tsar, which also appears as a water mark on every page of the passport. It is also the logo on every official Russian document.

The Fallible and Uninspired Religion of Peace  Murder and Rape strikes again...

WHO will contradict the ERRORs?

"...who, being themselves but fallible and uninspired men, have assumed dominion over the faith of others, setting up their own opinions and modes of thinking as the only true and infallible, and as such endeavoring to impose them on others, hath established and maintained false religions over the greatest part of the world, and through all time;

...

that it is time enough for the rightful purposes of civil government, for its officers to interfere when principles break out into overt acts against peace and good order; and finally, that truth is great and will prevail if left to herself, that she is the proper and sufficient antagonist to error, and has nothing to fear from the conflict, unless by human interposition disarmed of her natural weapons, free argument and debate, errors ceasing to be dangerous when it is permitted freely to contradict them. Agreed, but at least he’s allowing the moral compass of the Russian Orthodox Church to prevail.

The only thing I find unsettling about that is the anti-semitism in that body. I’m praying that the challenge they face from their Moslem population will mitigate that, but I’m not all that hopeful.

The Oprichnina (secret police - and historical predecessor to the KGB) was an instrument of religiously sanctioned terror.

The ROC is just another FALLIBLE and UNINSPIRED human religious concoction that became, like all human religious concoctions, an object of idolatrous worship in defiance of our Creator.

I expect the Russian Sheeple-herders are quite aware of the consequential order of precedence articulated in Romans 1:25++

So what’s with John McCain and Lindsey Graham? Why are they SO interested/excited to get our military or our resources involved in all these conflicts? It makes no sense. Is it the committees they are on? Is it ties to big war producers, what is it? It is becoming increasingly weird with each new conflict we involve ourselves in.

I’m wondering if it is our Christian duty to not pay taxes to support our evil government. Render unto Caesar, I know. Is Caesar supposed to be arming Islamists to kill innocent fellow Christians all over the globe?

What all innocents has Bashar Assad killed? Somebody remind me of what is so bad that we have to arm those who massacre innocent Christians who were minding their own business, who eat the hearts of those they kill, and who are admitted allies of Al Qaeda which desires to wipe out the US? What could be worse than these Islamist animals that the US government is arming?

Seems like this regime chooses to arm the Islamist murderers and the drug cartels who emulate the murderous atrocities of those Islamist thugs. Seems like this regime gets a real hard-on for people like that, just can’t resist them...

Valerie Jarrett is a pig-faced buffoon who should be called the Witch Hydra. There’s not an Islamist murderer she hasn’t spread her legs for, with US taxpayer money. Take THAT, stupido NSA!!

A person who wants to butcher a document can use any document as a supporting pillar. Hitler created his own Bible and used it as a supporting pillar. Nancy Pelosi thinks that late-term abortion is “sacred ground” - she who supposedly believes both the Bible and the Constitution.

I haven’t read all of “On the Jews and their Lies” by Martin Luther - just looked at the first part - but from what I could see, this was a refutation of the arguments set forth by Jews at that time, ridiculing the Christian faith. Stuff like calling Jesus’ mother a whore who slept with a soldier, etc. You may not have read some of the stuff that was in the Jewish writings, but they were not very “nice”. That doesn’t mean that we hate Jews, kill them, or anything else - just that we disagree. And that seems to be what Luther was doing in that book: disagreeing.

Sort of like Robert Spencer disagrees with the Muslims who say that infidels must die. Is that Islamophobia? Luther was refuting the teachings of the Jews of his day just as Robert Spencer is refuting the teachings of the Muslims of his day. If refutation of the beliefs of Muslims or Jews is anti-Muslim or anti-semitic, then anybody who has something they believe to be really true (and everything else is false) is as bad as Hitler. Is that really what you mean to say? Because that is the basis for the “hate-crimes” mentality - which is being used in Canada, for instance, as a basis to say that parts of the Old Testament can’t be read or preached in churches. The argument is that even just thinking that you are right and somebody else is wrong... is a crime. Is that really where you want to go with all this?

The first point he made flies in the face of racism and sexism, as he rebukes those (including both the Jews and the ancient philosophers) who boasted that they were not born an animal, a woman, or a Gentile/Greek, and who say that the Lord should answer their prayers because of their own worth compared to other people. Insert the word “non-Aryan” for “Gentile/Greek” and you’ve got a refutation of Adolph Hitler. Luther’s anger at those who boast of being born a man rather than a woman also rebukes Muslim doctrine.

I don’t have to believe the same doctrines as another person in order to support their inalienable rights. My reason to support Israel is not because I agree with everything they would say against me. It is because Israel as a nation, in keeping with the worldview of Judaism, values human life and all the other sacred gifts that are protected in the Ten Commandments. Unfortunately, a lot of ethnic Jews are atheist and I think that has a lot to do with the political leanings that line up against the actual orthodox Jewish teachings. Every religion has those who are In-Name-Only. It’s just a fact of life.

Those who oppose the sanctity of life and the other teachings of the Ten Commandments would like to see Jews and Christians divided against each other. I have no interest in being divided from Jews. Obama and his allies hate the Judeo-Christian worldview, because it recognizes the sanctity of human life, even for those of different beliefs. That’s why you get Lutherans, Catholics, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, and atheists all speaking out in defense of religious liberty when the government tries to force Catholics to pay for birth control and abortion.

My husband is an LCMS pastor and neither he, nor I, nor our children, nor anybody I know in any of the churches he’s served have been racist against Jews, which is what “anti-semitism” traditionally means - being against ethnic Jews, rather than against the teachings of current Judaism. My sister-in-law is active in a Messianic Jewish fellowship.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to do with the scare quotes around “pastor”, and why you’re trying to raise a beef with Lutherans. I can assure you that the little white-haired ladies in our churches are not burning crosses on anybody’s front lawn or flying swastikas.

we're always reading about Christians getting massacred. In this incident they were rounded up into the square and killed. Why did they allow themselves to be herded together? Why the hell don't they fight back? Why didn't these "militants" entering the village get a greeting of hot lead?

Whether is Egypt, Syria, Libya, the Christians always get massacred. They need to start fighting back or they'll be exterminated.

Strange world, ain't it? I'm in the same boat as you. As bad as these dictators like Assad, Saddam Hussein, Kadaffy, etc., were, at least religious minorities were fairly protected under them although I admit the exception was with the Kurds under Saddam. Still, these dictators were cut from a different cloth than the mooselimb brotherhood rebels, they were more secular, basically 1950's era Pan-Arab socialists. Assad is the lesser evil here.

Saddam's war against the Kurds was not a religious one as the Kurds were/are majority Sunni just as was the ruling elite in Iraq. But Kurds are Indo-Europeans, an Irani people. And they are spread over Iran, Iraq, Turkey and Syria.

Saddam just didn't like anyone who could oppose him. If you shut up and let him rule, he left you alone -- a common gangster

But the jihadis don't leave you alone, they'll kill you

We should supply weapons to assad to kill off the Saudi and Qatari sponsored alQaeda terrorist/jihadis...

All dictatorships have a psychological/physiological basis for their rule. Understand that and you can moderate, negotiate and manage a dictatorship. Fundamentally they're all megalomaniacs with god complexes. They draw strength via a crony elite who are granted political and economic perks for supporting the regime. Enemies are cruelly punished, often along with their entire families up and down the family tree. It just takes a few public and relatively precise attacks to get people in line (e.g. Democrats in urban environments or Obama/Clinton and the media for two ubiquitous American examples).

I share the above two examples on purpose. Our topic is Islam and its strict adherents, but Islam is more like liberalism/progressivism than most Americans realize. Both have a universal scope and worldwide area of operation. Both are without limits as to means as their ends are ‘righteous’. Both will terrorize, torture and kill to get their way. Lying in both is actually seen as a virtue as the enemy is of the ‘devil’ and deserves what they get.

Yet, when confronted one with the other they are naturally in conflict. The people being beaten, raped, tortured, imprisoned and killed in Egypt and Turkey are ‘liberal/progressives’. Note that the history of these two movements is one in which Islam's fanatics are more violent and more furious than liberalisms. Liberalism is softer and thus gives way to Islamism.

What makes American liberals so dangerous isn't just their very bad ideas, nor is it their tolerance for failure of those ideas and the real horror it inflicts on the ‘served’ populations. It is their superiority complex. They really believe they can manage radical Islam. This massive blind spot is deadly. It is really killing people as well as America.

Liberals have been poisoning the country for a long time, but because reality eventually hits Americans America can make course corrections. With Islam there isn't any course correction. Every act of appeasement, tolerance and compromise is simply an invitation, an encouragement to demand more. Muslims thought leaders and organizations have stated that they respect America, its Constitution and aren't working to change its institutions. Yet, they regularly opposed laws blocking Sharia enforcement at the local and state level. Why?

Liberals support Obama, despite the fact that he consistently supports Sunni Islam no matter what the human rights record, works against real liberty in the world, and prefers strict Islamists to secular Islamists at every turn. Their superiority complex makes them think they can manage Obama. When Sharia comes to America, and do not doubt for a moment that that's not the goal, liberals will be the first in line for beatings, rapings, imprisonments, torture and murder. That information isn't just from ancient history, but current events. Liberals don't see it. Their superiority complex isn't a shield, but a blinder.

Fine, but to me it’s just a different label on the same contents.

I vigorously disagree, Cronos. Vigorously.

Moslem hegemony, wherever it is manifest, is the most violent, most oppressive, most retrograde religious force that ever emerged on the planet, and that by orders of magnitude.

While the totalitarian statists have shown brutality and senseless disregard for life on an almost unimaginable scale, with an almost religious zeal, the Moslems have surpassed even them, and they have been doing it for 1400 years.

Consider Moslem brutality, just for the month of May, taken from http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/

Monthly Jihad Report
May, 2013

Jihad Attacks: 277

Countries: 25

Religions: 5

Dead Bodies: 1423

Critically Injured: 2667

This goes on month after month, year after year, and has been going on for centuries.

Indeed. You’ll get no contest from me on that one. I am aware of Luther’s anti-Semitism. And while he was able to root it in Scripture, I submit that it was Scripture taken out of context, and furthermore without considering that Jesus and all the first Christians, as well as all but two of the authors of the New Testament, were Jews. Even worse, he omitted God’s promise to Abraham and his descendants that He would “bless them that bless thee, and curse them that curse thee.” Even a cursory examination of world history shows this to be true.

Moreover, all Lutheran pastors I’ve ever met, even in the most conservative Lutheran congregations, hold Dietrich Bonhoeffer as a hero of the faith and a Christian martyr.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dietrich_Bonhoeffer

Virtually all conservative Evangelical Christians today believe that the Jews still hold a special place in God’s economy, that His promises to them are eternal, and that there remain promises to the Jewish people yet to be fulfilled.

The Jewish people and the state of Israel figure very prominently in the prophecies of the books of Daniel, Isaiah, Ezekiel, the Olivet Discourse in the Gospels, and The Revelation of Jesus Christ. Those of us with premillenial perspective are watching current events unfolding as the fulfillment of those prophesies and look to the Jewish people and the state of Israel as sacred in the sight of the Lord.
