The head of the country’s National Security Agency testified Wednesday that surveillance has stopped “dozens” of potential terrorist attacks by looking at the phone records, emails and other Internet searches of people suspected of terrorism-related incidents.
Army Gen. Keith Alexander told a Senate panel that securing a “cyber arena” could be done without infringing upon the privacy rights of Americans.
“We do not see a tradeoff between security and liberty,” Alexander said, later adding, “We are trying to protect Americans.”

The father of the Michigan woman killed in Syria also says he warned the feds about her fraudulent marriage and growing radicalism. Fortunately, his daughter chose to die there rather than here.
Terrorists could rent billboards and give 6 months of warning and the feds would still miss them.

There’s the problem. You can’t prove a negative. They could have stopped another 9/11, another Boston Marathon pressure-cookoff, or stopped a potential jaywalker. You can never know unless you let the scenario play itself out.
ALL government agencies have major credibility problems and to make that kind of statement they need to provide the list and PROVE it.
Basically they’re saying “The system worked”.
Don’t forget Benghazi. Somebody screwed up royally. Information points to the State Department but if the NSA had information relevant to any potential terrorist attack on the Consulate, it should have gone right to the President’s Intelligence advisor (Brennan) and/or Clapper, if not the President himself. That is what we NEED TO KNOW.
Forget Biden. He couldn’t understand an Intell Alert if you shoved it up his butt to his brain.
Maybe NSA will be shown to have actually done pretty well in security surveillance but as Clara Peller would say,
