US SOLDIER Robert Bales, who killed 16 Afghan civilians during a rampage in Kandahar last year, will escape the death penalty by pleading guilty to murder.

Sixteen people, mainly women and children, were killed in two villages near the base during the rampage. Some of the bodies were piled up and set on fire.

Last month, AP spoke to locals in the villages that Bales terrorised. "Relatives of the victims became outraged at the notion Bales might escape the death penalty," it said.
One man, Mohammed Wazir, who lost 11 family members including his mother and two-year-old daughter told reporters: "For this one thing, we would kill 100 American soldiers,"
Said Jan, whose wife and three other relatives were among those gunned down, said: "A prison sentence doesn't mean anything... I know we have no power now. But I will become stronger, and if he does not hang, I will have my revenge."

and if we had leaders with a balls at all we would nuke or carpet bombs these worthless human pieces of trash into oblivion.
If we could trust our government and media, the reported actions by this soldier would be the sort of crime I would condemn. As it is, with Obama actively working to fundamentally transform America from a free country to his vision of a workers paradise, and with the media groveling for Obama more enthusiastically than the German media did for Goebbels, I don’t know what if anything to believe from this story. I just know that Obama will milk this for all the destructive coverage he can get.
We have sacrificed countless lives and wealth on this worthless country and people with absolutely no appreciation....screw what they think about anything. We should withdraw tomorrow!!!
Except the problem is...they are all not worthless POS’s. There is no such thing as 100% pure evil in any given area, otherwise we could have just dropped a few tactical nukes and been done with it.
But, the way our boys are ordered - it’s no different than Vietnam....and so we are losing our heroes at a higher rate, plus “friendlies”, and turning their surviving relatives into enemies.

The soldier admitted he did this. What don’t you believe? He murdered 16 people and their families are vowing revenge because he won’t get the death penalty. This story shows it’s possible that the military is creating more terrorists by killing innocent people abroad.
They didn’t ask for our sacrifices, they’re reacting to innocent people being murdered, as we would react. I agree, the military should withdraw before doing any more damage.
I have seen far too many news articles presenting "facts" that weren't true or that were reported in such an inaccurate manner that the impression conveyed had no connection to reality. I trust today's media exactly as much as I trust Obama, which is not at all. We know it is possible for the military to create more terrorism by killing innocents. We also know it is possible for the press to create more terrorism by reporting on a Koran in a urinal, whether or not there was such an event. Sorry, but the NYT, WaPo, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, and the rest lost me years ago.
They kill each other by the hundreds. They blow themselves up and their mothers are proud of them. But, if an American does once what they do to each other on a daily basis? Well, it’s an international crisis.
Screw them all. We shouldn’t be there. We could nuke Waziristan and be done with it all. Why waste American blood on these primitives?
Another question...why haven’t we eradicated their poppy crops? Their only use is to make opium. Why are we supporting the opium trade, but fighting a war on drugs?
Understandable.
Perhaps the koranimals, feeble-minded as the are, can understand why Americans would feel the same way.
The Boston Massacre is a case in point.
The further point is that not a single koranimal killer in Gitmo or in any other prison has ever received the (deserved) death penalty. Even for a crime not perpetrated under extenuating circumstances, but calmly, deliberately, with planning and with malice of forethought, not in the heat of battle...

And it doesn't help that our First Moron has publicly announced over and over that HIS policy is never to use drones to kill known mass murderers if there is any chance of "innocent civilians" being killed.

Fox is repeating the AP story. I have not been following this story and have not heard the soldier’s testimony in his own words. In general, the greater the political implications of a story, the less I trust secondary sources, regardless of the source - and I am at least somewhat skeptical on at least 95% of the stories on FR.
Because pissing off most of the farmers in that country won't make 'nation building' any easier. It would just create more people happy to look the other way, or even lend a hand, to the guy burying a bomb in the road waiting for the next Humvee of invaders to come rolling down his road.
