To the Boy Scouts and Others – Warning: Reality is Not Politically Correct
The Aquila Report ^ | 5-26-13 | Jason A. Van Bemmel

Posted on 05/26/2013 8:43:35 AM PDT by ReformationFan

All teens need to be taught by their parents, teachers, pastors and mentors that their sexual desires are not their identity, nor do they need to be controlled by them. Who we are is so much greater than our appetites, sexual or otherwise. And all of us can learn, by God’s grace, to master and subdue our desires.

[[The liberals have been talking how unfair and unjust it is, that the 18 year old is in trouble with the law.]]

Perhaps a bank robber can talk abotu how unfair hte law is when all that money is available to them for the taking and they ‘just can’t help themselves’ when they see the money because ‘they were born that way’ with hte desire to steal money

[[So, I would expect that the homosexual steamroller will go after these age of consent laws, as they have gone after our marriage laws]]

They are already tryign it in europe where they want to lower the age of ‘consent’ to 13-

We’re quickly approachign the tiem just liek when Lot was in Soddom when the crowds demanded that he send out his guest for them to have gay sex with- pretty soon pedophiles will demand that we hand over our kids to them and apaprently ourt govenrment is pushign for this?

Indeed - what is the average age of a Boy-Scout? 13 years old perhaps? What need is their for such children to confront such a confusing and divisive sexual issue?

And yet our social/political left is forcing it on them anyway.

I agree. However, there apparently comes a point in the life of a degenerating people that The Lord abandons them. Maybe we have reached that point? Maybe we are entering into the last days where wickness will temporarily triumph?

It is possible, I’ve been sayign that I think the man off lawslessness is ‘beign released’ as we’re seeign the ‘restraints ofm orality’ being assaulted and we’re witnessing one attrocity after another as the left simply ignores the law and attacks it’s own people and dares anyone to do anythign about it and noone i nwashington ereally is doign anyhting about it- seriously anyway- This is, how I imagien it, that the man of lawlessness will be able to coem to power- nooen will oppose his blatant sin and criminal acts- and thsoe that try, will be intimidated, harrassed or worse, arrested

Things are gettign worse here- for sure, but what we must remember is, thigns are and have been much much worse in other nations for a long time- we’re only realyl jjust beginnign to experience it- it could e that this lawlessness will continue for a goodl ong time before it’s finally fully released and all hell breaks loose- literally- but it’s also possible we’re coming to hte end tiems quickly- Hard to know really

And all of us can learn, by God’s grace, to master and subdue our desires

I am not a Christian so I don't know, this is an honest question. Do Christians honestly believe that homosexuality is just some sexual desire? I have never, ever, not once, not even a little, not even in my darkest deepest recesses of the depraved parts of my mind, found men or boys sexually attractive. I mean, being tempted by hot women when you're married.. that's when prayer might help. Being tempted by girls who are fully developed but not adults, also a good time to pray for guidance. But I just don't think you can pray away the desire to snooker another man.

Fair question. This is my answer: Biblically Orthodox Christians hold that sexual activity is limited to within the boundaries of marriage as Christ(not the government) defined the institution in Matthew 19:4-6. For those who aren’t in or can’t participate in that institution, the only option is chastity. Whether the desire to engage in homosexual activity(or bestiality or pedophilia or some other deviation from male/female marital activity) disappears in the individual’s lifetime on this earth or not is not really the issue. His or her true reward is in Heaven.

This is a good article by a celibate Christian singer entitled-”Gay Sex is Downright Dangerous and Abstinence Won’t Kill You: I Should Know”

http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/archive//ldn/2009/mar/09031007

I particularly like this quote: “The Church talks about Natural Law and says that if something is true it will prove true in many ways. The Bible says gay sex is a problem, biology doesn’t support it, and health statistics demonstrate its problems. Why not abstain? That’s what I’m doing.”

thsoe are communist goals- and yes, they have accomplished them- but they were not part of our congressional record- that wass my quesion abotu hte gay manifesto- if it had becoem a part of our congressional record, then it seems to me that someoen of moral fortitude within washington woudkl have exposed it and put a stop to it

Yes, the Communist goad were read into the Congressional Record in 1963; and no, no-one put a stop to it, which is why the gay manifesto is also so alarming. Congress is made aware of a number of conservative concerns and almost never takes timely action because of outcry and pressure from left-wing liars, the leftist media making opposition, and leftwing lawsuits from groups like the ACLU.

Just to be clear, the Congressional Record is a daily newspaper printed by the Government Printing Office that contains every word said and documents presented in sessions of Congress, so that all the business of We the People can be publicized or researched.

The Mormon church tops the list of membership enrollment numbers, with 431,000 youths participating in LDS-sponsored units as of Dec. 31, 2012. That was followed by the United Methodist Church at 364,000 and the Catholic Church at 274,000. More than 70 percent of Scouting units are chartered to faith-based groups.

I wish I could count on the Methodists to side with the Catholics and say, "Change it back or leave our buildings." But I can't.

Disgraceful.

...being tempted by hot women when you're married.. that's when prayer might help. Being tempted by girls who are fully developed but not adults, also a good time to pray for guidance. I just don't think you can pray away the desire to snooker another man.

Why should any type of sexual craving be any harder to resist than any other? Either it is a sanctified relationship in which two people join before God and witnesses to found a family, or it's not and it's illegitimate. So pray to be pleasing to God in all areas of life. Pray to have greater faith in God and to wait for God to finish His work in you (extinguishing this and all other kinds of sin gradually, through faith and patience). Pray to understand God and God's word more deeply every day. Pray for wisdom. Pray for strength in the face of all temptations. There's lots of ways to approach it without testing God to do it like pulling a rabbit from a hat with no pain or strain, or else He's no good. That's as unrealistic as going on a diet and expecting to lose 50 pounds overnight.

Interesting, if true. Very interesting. I had not suspected something like this - but it’s pretty clear that yes, it’s about getting Catholics out of scouting.

The answer you *should* have given, “the Catholic church is the Church of God”. It’s not corrupt at all. ;)

Under DADT if two fags were caught, one would claim he was being raped and take the fall. He would be booted and his butt buddy would still able to stay in. Now they can be lovey dovey all they want without fear.

Like you said now they are emboldened because they are “legal” now.

Sounds like an easy route to a Dishonorable Discharge, as well. Then the ACLU could sue to have the discharge upgraded to General Discharge, etc. Then more lawsuits for retroactive discrimination, etc. There is no political solution to the problem of evil.

20 ... However, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops took that a step farther and told CP (Christian Post) that it has offered no such support. ...

5/24/2013
http://www.ncregister.com/daily-news/boys-scouts-of-america-lifts-ban-on-= homosexual-scouts

Bishop Robert Guglielmone, the USCCB episcopal liaison for the National Catholic Committee on Scouting (NCCS), attended the meeting and wasn’t surprised by the result of the vote. “I kind of expected that this is the way the vote would go,” Bishop Guglielmone told the Register. I’m not particularly encouraged by it, but I knew it would happen eventually. As the policy change is right now promoted, we can live with it.. Unfortunately, there are many people who are interpreting this policy to go much further than it actually does, particularly in the secular press.”

Bishop Guglielmone believes that the revision is acceptable to Catholics because, in accord with Church teaching, it makes a distinction between same-sex attraction and same-sex actions. “Church teaching is very clear that the homosexual inclination is not sinful and that same-sex attraction is not immoral,” he says, “but that what we’re dealing with here is the distinction between the inclination and the conduct. The standards remain the same as they always have for scouts. Homosexual activity will not be condoned.”

Bishop Guglielmone, who served as the Holy See’s world chaplain to Catholic scouting for 2, 4-year terms (2000-2008), believes Catholic flight would be a mistake. “My concern is that we have well over half a million young people in the program,” he said, “and most of those kids are going to stay no matter what happens. We have a real obligation to stay in dialogue and to stay connected to the program.” Added the bishop, “The leadership of the BSA has made it very clear that they intend to hold the line on adult leaders, but they also said they would hold the line on this issue, so where this could go, I don’t know. That’s why I feel it’s imperative for the Church to continue to be involved. And if it gets to the point where some of our basic issues our threatened such as being able to pick leaders for Catholic chartered groups or in diminishing the role of religion and God, then we will have to re-evaluate our participation in the program at that time.”
