NBC Fails to Report Its Own Scoop That AG Holder Approved Investigation of Fox's Rosen
NewsBusters ^

Posted on 05/24/2013 9:41:00 AM PDT by chessplayer

As of Friday morning, NBC News broadcasts had completely ignored an important scoop from the network's own national investigative correspondent Michael Isikoff that Attorney General Eric Holder personally approved the Justice Department's aggressive investigation of Fox News reporter James Rosen. Meanwhile, both CBS News and FNC provided on-air coverage of the new development.

On Thursday's Nightly News, White House correspondent Peter Alexander passed up the perfect opportunity to mention the breaking news as he wrapped up a report on President Obama's afternoon national security speech: "Also today, on the topic of national security leaks, the President said that he's asked Attorney General Eric Holder to conduct a 45-day review...of the Justice Department's guidelines for investigations that involve journalists."

Given the revelation from Isikoff, that would mean that Holder has been put in charge of reviewing misconduct that he himself approved.

Did NBC ignore their own scoop or were they strong-armed to ignore their own scoop by their paymasters in the so-called government?

I haven’t watched NBC for years...My television is off about 98 percent of the time...

If ya got Internet, there is basically no need for TV other than some rare live events.

If this were the Bush administration this “scoop” would be HUGE and would be the subject of wall-to-wall coverage. Here, however, NBC squelches the news.

Time publishes a cheeky, JUST DISCOVERED!, photo of a young prom-going Obama.

See a pattern here? The MSM is the ENEMY. They need to be destroyed.

NBC spiked a story about FNC? That’s very hard to believe. (Do I HAVE to /s?)

Michael Isikoff needs to get a new line of work. Every time he gets a big story, his employer spikes it. He was the first to know about Monica Lewinsky, but Newsweek wouldn’t let him go public with it. This, of course, is what made Matt Drudge’s career.

There’s not much point in forcing somebody to do something they want to do anyway.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. I remember back when NBC News was where you turned for honesty ... well, that and to see investigative reports of trucks blowing up from planted explosives.

I thought that was Isikoff. Makes me feel kind of sorry for him.

chessplayer ~:” Given the revelation from Isikoff, that would mean that Holder has been put in charge of reviewing misconduct that he himself approved.”

So we should have Holder investigate Holder~ and expect an answer ?
We are still awaiting release of Fast and Furious materials !

Maybe we should just have Hillary investigate Hillary’s Benghazi ?
Or have Weiner inviestigate Weiner ?
Or Solyndra investigate Solyndra ?
This is democratic party comedy at its best !
It is a “daisey-chain” of stupidity

There are two kinds of non-conservative journalists: The Propagandists and the Hopelessly Naive.

"It is a “daisey-chain” of stupidity".

Great line. Can I steal it or modify as in "FEDGOV is a daisey-chain of stupidity/incompetence"? But then, it that may not resonate with younger folks.

One thing about network news it’s what they don’t report is called a cover up kind of like news papers.
