Here's a classic from the Obama playbook: Whenever you're in trouble, find a way to blame George W. Bush for it.
That concept was in play on Thursday afternoon's edition of MSNBC's Martin Bashir program, when the liberal host and contributor Joy Reid were able to convince their guest, GOP strategist Ron Christie, to admit that Steven Miller, the former acting director of the Internal Revenue Service, was appointed by “the previous administration,” a phrase used to describe Bush.
Following the quick firing of Miller on Wednesday and President Obama's promise to hold everyone involved accountable, Bashir asked Christie if the action by the Democratic occupant of the White House was sufficient.
“No, it's not,” the Republican stated before calling the IRS scandal “one of the most chilling cases involved with the coercive powers of government.”
Christie then said:
This scandal isn’t about President Obama, this is about a culture within the Internal Revenue Service that seemed to think it was okay, that singling out people due to their partisan affiliation would be somehow fine.

Only a “conservative” desperate for money or a strutting loon (or both) would denigrate their personal standing in the human race to appear onto that partisan hack’s television show.
It’s never small children’s or leftist extremists’ fault; the difference is most small children grow up.
The communists never do anything corrupt. Nope! No way! Uh-uh! It’s ALWAYS Bush’s fault.
There is a bit of truth in it. Most Bushites are opposed to the Tea Party movement.
It’s not who appointed the guy in charge of the IRS during this time it’s under whose watch it happened. The IRS was not used against liberal groups under Bush it was used against Conservatives to suppress the vote under Obama.
Too bad only three people saw it. If Newbusters didn’t watch, it would have been two people.
?
Of course. Nothing is ever their fault
Rove.
This is great. So if this guy was appointed by Bush and he did his job without issues prior to Obama being elected, this tells me that he was putting the screws to conservative organizations by Obama’s direct orders.
That’s ridiculous .Democrat Obama got his IRS to rig the election for Obama. Obama’s IRS shut prevented many conservative groups from getting started. Democrat Obama sicked his IRS, FBI etc on good Americans and you say Bush(rove) did it? you people really believe your democrat party is not the enemy?
MSNBC ? the Beavis and Butt-head network all the time.
Bashir needs to get the hell out of our country
Exactly
You said it, and like yesterday
I am saying that many in the Republican establishment were not unhappy to see the IRS going after Tea Party organizations, and a Bush appointee might well have had the same sentiments. The Tea Party is somewhat like the Ripon Society in relation to the state Whig Party in 1854. Except the Republican Party Establishment is powerful enough to resist a take-over, to suppress any insurgency. Obamacare politicized a lot of hitherto apolitical men and women of means. The only figure around who they might have ralleyed was Palin, but she lack the political skills to overcome those on the right and left who disdained her. She was no Reagan with firm roots in the Establishment. So we see, a primary with the usual flawed and lesser talents. It was as if Jesse Jackson had been the VP nominee in 1984 and was shooting for the nomination in 1988. Both the Jackson of the 80s and the Palin of today were more gifted campaigners than the others, but they lacked the patina that made them acceptable to the national elites.
It’s Obama’s 2nd term and they are still blaming Bush.
They can’t face the truth that it is their fault and no one else
