Feds Pull 3D-Printed Gun Design from Web
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | May 9, 2013 | Mary Chastain

Posted on 05/09/2013 4:59:05 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

The federal government has sent a letter to a personal defense advocate demanding he remove the 3D blueprints for a functional homemade gun from his website.

Cody Wilson of Defense Distributed, which hosts designs for 3D-printable firearms and firearm components, has complied with the government order to remove the files.

“DEFCAD files are being removed from public access at the request of the US Department of Defense Trade Controls,” reads the banner at the top of his website defcad.org. “Until further notice, the United States government claims control of the information.”

Defense Distributed's Twitter account lays blame on Secretary of State John Kerry:

Defense Distributed @DefDist

#DEFCAD has gone dark at the request of the Department of Defense Trade Controls. Take it up with the Secretary of State.

I don't do tats for religious reasons, but if I did, that would be one that I would have on one ass cheek.

Just so you could say ...

My ass is a lethal weapon!

I think Obama is afraid history will repeat itself such as Lincoln and Booth at the theater, and we all know how much Obama thinks he is a reincarnated Lincoln.

So its just a shot in the dark so to speak that Obama fears an assassin using a printed gun against him, and so he just hits the panic button, plus he needs a diversion from Bengazi.

Intimidation.

I’d have told them “FU!” You have no such jurisdiction!

There is no particular law being violated.
Assertions to the contrary are FRAUDULENT!

The product is LEGAL!
The information is widely available.

We need a few of the 60,000 who have already download it, to take turns posting it.

So, no longer content to attack the second amendment they have now attacked the first amendment.

Note to the citizenry: Due to sequestration elements of the first ID will be quartered in your spare bedroom.

Hope they like generic beans and franks, unless they’re bringing their own rations.

Thanks for the link to the video. Without sound relevant to the video, it was hard to tell whether he really fired it. It was an artistic music video, though.

Well, homemade machine guns were outlawed but there are no regulations on mills and lathes.

Not yet. Now how can I hide my metalwork machines? 3D printers don't weigh many hundreds of pounds and are easier to hide.

I downloaded it from the pirate bay. Here’s the link:

http://thepiratebay.sx/torrent/8449468/Liberator_-_First_3D_Printable_Gun

Of course, you’ll first need to install a P2P bit torrent program to handle the torrent file. I would recommend µTorrent or Vuze, but they’ve become quite cumbersome and laden with advertisements, lately. So, if you don’t already have a bit torrent downloader, you might give Tixati a try:

Cheers!

Interesting. Posted a reply to http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3017652/posts

But it landed his thread. Not sure why.

I know I'm a lousy typist but can't help but wonder where this post will land...

They want to move my lathe? They are welcome to it. I darn near needed surgury the last time I moved it. I broke an engine hoist trying to get it into place. And it's seriously bolted down to an 8" concrete slab.

It’s probably a thousand times that number by now just from folks sharing the file around the world.

Cat. Now, out of bag.

What hubris they have, thinking that only Americans would have the knowledge and/or technological prowess to create such...marvels.
