The stupid party is at it again. Instead of supporting a republican for the House, they would rather a baby killing, queer "marriage", Obama rubber stamp win. Never in my life have I saw a political party as damn stupid as today's GOP.

Sanford is a part of this stupidity.

What he did was the height of idiocy. He deserves to lose.

If conservatives won’t stand up for principle, I don’t care what party affiliation they wear, they don’t deserve to win.

I don’t love Sanford but this is seriously stupid.

If the GOP could support pro abort, pro gay marriage Scott Brown, they can certainly support Sanford.

Cojnservatives and even many Republicans still think the Republican Party is on their side. It is not. It is fighting hard to survive in what it sees as a permanent Democratic Socialist State. It strives to hang on to the role of Officially Tolerated Opposition so that the Regime can maintain a fig leaf of democracy. But when that regime does come to pass the rulers will no longer have any need for an Opposition and the Roves and Grahams and Luntzs and McCains go to the cellars right behind the known conservatives.

Sanford is Todd Akins without the speech impediment.

If Colbert-Bush wins, she will get tossed out in 2014. If the Appalachian Trail Hiker wins, SC may be stuck with him for years to come.

It really does convince someone that the RNC leadership of the GOP are hellbent upon losing.

The republican national commity is a joke, they fire successful chairmen and re-higher unmitigated failures. Theses people quite obviously are doing everything they can to lose. How do we get rid of these tratiors?

The establishment is not to blame for lying, cheating Mark Sanford. He was certainly NOT the establishment candidate.

Erick Erickson endorsed this idiot, and supposed “values voters” in SC1 decided to give him a “second chance” for redemption. It was obvious Sanford is a selfish, unstable tool and now we are likely to lose the seat. Erickson shares the blame for this.

Yes, Republicans/conservatives should vote for Sanford over the Stephen Colbert’s liberal sister, but we didn’t get into this mess because of our “stupid party” - it was entirely because of our stupid voters (and morons like Erickson).

The unfortunate likely outcome is Sanford loses, is politically done (hopefully forever) and we elect a real conservative for the seat in 2014. In the meantime, yes, the unions do get a victory and we have to put up with Elizabeth Colbert Busch for awhile. It’s a terrible shame, but this one is on the supposedly conservative voters in that R+11 district.

No matter how repulsive, I would vote for ANY Republican over ANY Democrat. Just that 2 vote swing in the House (and especially in the Senate) could make a difference. That’s what it has become...a numbers game. So, I never sit out an election and I never vote for a Democrat.

We don't need to lose that seat to the powerful unions.

They are going to have to help him just for that reason alone.

This is war; a battle of how to manage this nation.

so let me get this right,
we have a guy running for our side who made a mistake but the stupid party does nothing to help much and we have him now looking to lose in a conservative area, in a conservative state

the stupid party strikes again.

This is Colberts sister for crying out loud, surely even the elitist on our side would rather we win this seat and not let a liberal get it in a conservative state and area, they can’t be that stupid can they?

Did the NRCC force Stanford to have two of his sons on the same stage as his mistress who they never met before? Did the NRCC force Stanford to violate his divorce agreement by going to his ex-wife’s house uninvited? If Stanford wanted political redemption he needed to stay on the straight and narrow and he could not even do that.

"But they, and I, presumed he was over the issues with his ex-wife."

That statement illustrates Erickson's naivete. This isn't your garden variety divorce. He left his office to go to another continent to see his mistress on Father's Day weekend without telling another co-worker or family member where he was going. That screams to me that Sanford is nuts. As in, not wrapped too tight. The impromptu press conference on his return, where no contrition for his actions were exhibited but a mush filled ode to his mistress was puked up for the press, just cemented that view.

Erickson was surprised that he entered his ex wife's home against court orders? I'm not surprised because it fits right into Sanford's infantile mindset and history of self entitlement and stupidity. Any of the others running against him in the primary didn't carry his baggage and would have done fine in the general election. I blame the voters of SC who share the same naive mindset as Erickson.

“Mark Sanford ran away with the race in South Carolina’s first congressional district”

Total BS. Sanford won in a runoff against Curtis Bostic, no way he ran away with the race. It was a close race despite the bias in media coverage for Sanford. The bleating media sheep kept telling us Sanford was a fiscal conservative, which apparently, is all they thought mattered. In the debate last night he even challenged whats-her-name on whether she had a problem with what Bill Clinton did and should Bill be punished for the rest of his life. His best justification is comparing himself to Bill Clinton. Sleaze personified.

I finally understand the conservatives who sat out the presidential election. My vote will be a write-in for Curtis Bostic.

The South Carolina primary looked a lot like the 2012 Republican presidential primary.

Too many good candidates in the race splitting the conservative vote allowing the worst one to win the nomination.

In 2012, it was Romney. In 2013 it is Mark Sanford.

I don’t see how having this guy be part of the face of the GOP is of benefit to us. He’s part of the problem...and we already have enough others who are a problem without adding more to the mix.

Let’s face it! The GOP no longer represents conservative Americans. It only represents the GOP and basically GOP insiders as well. They are in fact turning themselves into political toast.
