Manchester, Ill. – Authorities in central Illinois have yet to identify the five people who are believed to have been shot to death in their home by a man who was later gunned down by police.
The nephew of Manchester's mayor shot to death two women, two boys and a man before leading police on a chase that ended in an exchange of gunfire that left him dead, authorities said Wednesday.
Illinois State Police said they believe Rick O. Smith, 43, entered the home through the back door and shot the victims at close range with a shotgun. Two people were found in a bedroom, two in a second bedroom and the man in the hallway. A sixth victim, a 6-year-old girl, was injured and taken to a Springfield hospital.

How is the news today different than news 50 years ago?
When there are locust with human features, then worry. Sitting around worrying and preaching the end is near is not very productive. The end of the world could be 10 years from now, or 100 years from now. You’ll only know until there are signs, and I’m not seeing many.
I see no difference in the news today, as opposed to 10 or 20 years ago. We are more connected, more gets reported on. Due to the internet.

Because the press is trained to look for the shocking and, above all, political angle. Every reporter believes they’re the next Woodward and Bernstein. So, even an expose on the local flower show is written in this shocking, political style just in case the Pulitzer committee happens to read it. BTW, I didn’t read the article, because, as you point out, it’s irrelevant. Can I assume that since it didn’t read, “white, conservative, antiabortion Republican,” that the uncle was a Democrat?

The five victims found in a single-story public housing apartment on East Street, including two male children, two adult females and an adult male were all shot at close range with a shotgun. Police say two victims were found in one bedroom, two in another bedroom and an adult male in a hallway.
Smith took the surviving 6-year-old and placed her in the arms of a neighbor before leading police, deputies and troopers on a high-speed chase. It appears that Smith forced his way into the apartment through the back door.
Holder has all kinds of peeps ~ most of them mind-numbingly violent ~ so they qualify.

People running to and fro sounds like a good description of today; increase in knowledge, also BECAUSE of the internet sounds like these days, and if you’re not seeing signs, you may not be a watchman, but perhaps, I Drive Too Fast, is.
