SALT LAKE CITY (AP) A Samurai sword-wielding Mormon bishop helped a neighbor woman escape a Tuesday morning attack by a man who had been stalking her.
Kent Hendrix woke up Tuesday to his teenage son pounding on his bedroom door and telling him somebody was being mugged in front of their house. The 47-year-old father of six rushed out the door and grabbed the weapon closest to him a 29-inch high carbon steel Samurai sword.

Regrettably, the bishop in question was not Mitt Romney.

“a 29-inch high carbon steel Samurai sword.” I thought anything over 28 inches was illegal? : )

It’s a high-capacity assault sword and it should be banned. Nobody needs more than a 10” dagger to defend himself.
To: ZirconEncrustedTweezers
A true Samurai swordsman is not dressed properly unless he carries both the Katana (long sword) and either or both a Wakizashi (shorter sword) and/or Tanto (short sword or dagger). The Katana blade is approximately 28-30 inches long; the Wakizashi is approximately 24 inches long, and the Tanto about 12 inches. All are razor sharp.
