Dang, blew the little girl’s ears out.
Read the comments blow and you can see just how many sick bass turds there are in this country.
Holy crap. That scared me just watching it.
Local news is reporting 60-70 dead so far and hundreds injured. They are evacuating the entire town out of fear of more explosions.
Massive and tragic - this is bad....
scary and sad video
West is a small community of 2800.
Honest...not a tinfoiler, but...do they have any idea how this fire started? I know fertilizer (and it’s dust—like grain and sugar) are exceptionally volatile. The timing of this tragic event is just scary (w/Waco anniversary this week.)
Reap the whirlwind, if it was on purpose.
There have been some extremely high winds and lightening in that area this afternoon. I haven’t heard anything official but I wouldn’t be surprised if that may be the trigger.
scary and sad video
But he’s now famous on youtube!!! Obviously that was far more important to him than the safety of his daughter.
I don’t think he could have known what kind of force that explosion could have had.
They are reporting that 60 to 70 have died, and around 200 have been injured.
So sad. West is the place people stop off to get kolaches when driving between Dallas and Austin.
There is no sense that this was anything more than an accident.
I don’t think he really expected an explosion like that
Texas City blast began with a fire aboard the SS Grankamp loaded with fertilizer(ammonium nitrate) bound for post-war Europe.
This reminds me of the Texas City chemical explosions of 1947.
I remember driving thou this town on my way to Fort Worth and Back.
Go easy man, he was damn near 1/4 mile from it best guess. In a million years I would have never guessed that was an unsafe distance and I don’t consider myself the typical village idiot. I still can’t believe how powerful that was
He shouldn’t have had his daughter out there but I doubt he or anyone never imagine it to blow up — with that kind of force and from a distant that from appearances looked far back enough
They are now saying it will be much higher than the 60-70 numbers. A nursing home was also destroyed before they could evacuate.
shouldn’t have had his daughter... probably taking her home from school or something.... I doubt he planned to see a major fire on the way
Mnehring, thank you for posting the information and link to the video. Here’s a live audio/video live news link and they’re updating.
This is horrific. More prayers for all in the area.
Last story said the highway is a half mile but this might not have been I-35 I suppose
Dust explosions are extremely bad.
I dont think he could have known what kind of force that explosion could have had.
Don’t make excuses for him. When you see a large fire at a chemical plant, you run and run and keep on running.
#west if you are at football field move to community center, football field triage is contaminated
Yep, I hear it can even happen with flour and sugar plants. Crazy to think about.
People 50 miles away are reporting they heard it and it shook their home.
Yep, it is usually the top off for gas point for us when going to San Antonio.
Nothing like this death toll reported yet on the MSM.
After reading the posts, I’m afraid to watch the video. What happened??
She's saying "let's get out of here" over and over, and then "I can't hear anything." She must have been terrified. I hope she gets her hearing back. That shock wave was going much faster than the speed of sound. It hit at the same time as the explosion could be seen.
I know about the blast - have been trying to keep up with it via the internet but what is in this video?
Around 60 reported dead, and many injuries.
I would imagine many of the injuries are burn victims, and that’s the worst kind of pain.
Well, it “flared.”
CCTV is reporting the bigger numbers and are using Waco TV feeds. I’ve seen scant a word on Fox (just a minute or two). This is massive and even Drudge just has one line.
Family in a car filming the fire when it suddenly explodes. Girl screams she can hear and to ‘get out of here’ over and over. Complete chaos.
The burning tank explodes. It’s safe to watch. I do hope we get an update. Obviously they made it out safely or we wouldn’t have the video. It’s the daughter’s hearing that is of concern after the horrific blast.
Looks like a nuke hit, almost.
You see the fire from the view of a man and his daughter in his P/U. The fire is already huge, then it seems to get even bigger, and then it blows up. It startled me while I was watching it. The man’s daughter evidently loses her hearing and she is begging him to “get out of here.”
He probably can’t hear her either, judging by the audio.
