They’re pretty stupid alright, that’s the definition of the kind of person who does this kind of stuff. But I think they’ve learned that there’s no percentage in suicide bombing. For $10-$20 cash, anyone can get a disposable pre-paid phone. For another $20, he can get a pre-paid card with enough minutes for the job. The only trick would be to put on a costume, complete with mask, while paying for it or to buy it far ahead of time so the security video has been written over.

I have to wonder if this guy was just cheap, like the first WTC bomber who went back to the rental center for the deposit, after claiming that the van had been stolen. Maybe he watched Homeland and thought investigators have no way of telling what phone number made a phone call to alert a terrorist chief about an impending assassination attempt. Heck, maybe he even thought cell phone signals aren't jammed inside the Pentagon building.

I don’t know if this is related or not. I was talking to a v close friend in the close vicinity of the bombing, ~4 hrs after it happened. I happened to mention that the bombs were put in trashcans—& the cell connection was severed. I heard a v strange signal, like an emergency frequency noise that I have never heard before, after which the line went dead. Fwiw.

All these pictures, and I still dont see the individual with a grey hoody and a black jacket on. Also it seems most of the pictures posted are from the first blast, not the second.
