“The video obtained by the FBI captures this man using his cellphone at the moment the first explosion detonated 100 yards away on Boylston Street on Monday and 12 seconds before the second blast close to where he is standing.

Federal agents then focused on the time-frame of that conversation to retrieve cell-phone records to identify potential callers according to CBS News.

Call logs were then obtained through the cell phone masts surrounding the attack zone and using these, investigators matched up the users’ identity with the time specific video and pictures to zero in on the individual.”

Yeah, right. I’m sure the bomber used his own personal cell phone, instead of, say, an untraceable throwaway available for a few bucks in every Walmart in America.

My guess is that they were “cheap” and got on a family verizon plan....so they’re all connected. Just stupid...

Even if it was a throw away, they still got visual on him via a frames of video synced with the cell data.

Yep. A disposable go-phone would work. Or better yet ... why use a cell phone at all? just agree to drop off the packages at a certain time, haul ass (slowly) and the ring leaders watch what happens on live TV

The phone call that triggered the bomb could have been made from Patagonia. They need a lot more than a video of a man on a cell phone to make their case.

Depending on the terrorist he used either his own or someone else's credit card to buy the throwaway phone.

It remains to be seen if this fellow is even a suspect. Remember, there are people who ALWAYS run from the site of an explosion ~ those who've been up on the firing line are going to look for cover ~ and will size up the situation.

You're way overestimating these idots. Remember the first idiot that bombed the WTC? The rear axle of the truck was found a few blocks away with the serial number on it and it was traced to Ryder truck rentals. The idiot went back to that Ryder truck desk for his "deposit" back.
