Well isn't this just ducky. It seems that yesterday, Port Authority police arrested an accused rapist at New Yorks JFK Airport just as he was getting ready to board his flight to London.
They found a stun gun in his carry-on luggage, which he somehow managed to get past the intrepid TSA agents at the security screening checkpoint.
This wasn't some zap-your-frat-brothers-on-a-dare stun gun, folks. This was a 3800-watt stun gun that the accused is alleged to have used to subdue his girlfriend before repeatedly raping her the day prior to his arrest.
When asked how the suspect, 23-year old Prodromos Vasilopoulos, was able to get the stun gun past the TSA security checkpoint, a TSA spokeswoman issued the standard "TSA takes this incident seriously and will carefully review the details" statement.
According to TSA's Traveler Information section of their website, a passenger is allowed to bring a stun gun with them, but not in a carry-on. It can only be in checked baggage.
A union representative for the Port Authority Police issued the following statement:
"We are dismayed the TSA continues to fail in its primary mission of screening passengers.
Better get used to it, pal.
3.8KW stun gun???!! What are you gonna stun, an aircraft carrier?
Bill Clinton flies coach?
TSA, totally worthless organization. A place were minorities and old people can get a job that pays more than minimum wage. AND get brand new uniforms.
A SG-47 no doubt.
Aside from the stun gun, how is an accused rapist being allowed to leave the country?
He wasn’t screened as rigorously because he didn’t have a small child in a stroller with him.
Good question.
TSA = F’n retarded theater.
That’d stune the moose that bit ...
“TSA, totally worthless organization. A place were minorities and old people can get a job that pays more than minimum wage. AND get brand new uniforms.”
You realize you just described Postal Employees and the DMV!
Not my intent, but ... if the description fits. LOL!
He may have been mistaken for not wearing his cloth diaper on his head and fan belt.
Off by 3 orders of magnitude, I’d guess.
It’s probably the high voltage that stun guns use that leads to that number.
500kV is not untypical for a stun gun.
Using 1W = 1VA, we find that it would put out 7.6 mA of current at that voltage to arrive at 3800W. Not unreasonable.
He wasn't. He was arrested trying to leave. Then they found the stun gun.
