Actor Jim Carrey’s “Cold Dead Hand” video unleashed a firestorm of outrage among conservatives and gun-rights advocates—and for good reason. In one pathetic song, Carrey, who enjoys the protection of an armed bodyguard, mocks the nearly 90 million gun owners in this country, Charlton Heston and rural America. Allahpundit over at Hot Air summed it up best when he said the song is “neither funny nor biting” but rather, is “basically an extended dick joke of the sort that’s been thrown at gun owners for decades.” Indeed.
But it seems Carrey couldn’t handle Greg Gutfeld’s criticism on Fox News. The actor released a ludicrous and semi-coherent statement on Friday in response, which called Fox News “Fux News,” and referred to the network as a “giant culture fart,” and a “media colostomy bag.” Wow:
Since I released my “Cold Dead Hand” video on Funny or Die this week, I have watched Fux News rant, rave, bare its fangs and viciously slander me because of my stand against large magazines and assault rifles. I would take them to task legally if I felt they were worth my time or that anyone with a brain in their head could actually fall for such irresponsible buffoonery. That would gain them far too much attention which is all they really care about.
I’ll just say this: in my opinion Fux News is a last resort for kinda-sorta-almost-journalists whose options have been severely limited by their extreme and intolerant views; a media colostomy bag that has begun to burst at the seams and should be emptied before it becomes a public health issue.
I sincerely believe that in time, good people will lose patience with the petty and poisonous behavior of these bullies and Fux News will be remembered as nothing more than a giant culture fart that no amount of Garlique could cure.
I wish them all the luck that accompanies such malevolence.
The Five didn’t let this one go—all of them, including Bob Beckel, took shots at the “comedian’s” remarks. “Our country is great because washed-up comics have the right to suck,” Gutfeld said. “I love the First Amendment—and Twitter especially—for it exposes the soft underbelly of the celebrity simple mind. They undo everything their publicists try to mask.
Gutfeld exposes the soft underbelly of simple-minded celebs
Why does this matter? As Katie pointed out in her post on Carreys video, Culture and Hollywood trump politics on every issue, all the time. Its important that the Right fights back and exposes Hollywoods hypocrisy and idiocy for what it is.
Another brilliant, intellectual, intensely advanced, Progressive actor enlightens the world with his opionions.

IMHO
This country didn’t ‘raise’ Carrey, he’s a Canadian.
He’s an ex-prozac addict (only assuming the “ex” part) who suffers from a lifetime of depression.
Who knows? In the current climate America finds itself in .....next thing you know, he may even come out of the closet....
which would pretty much explain his lifetime of depression and heterosexual relationship failures....not to mention his deep love and admiration of his father (freudian?). And since his career did need a boost (this latest rant wasn’t it)....I wouldn’t be a bit surprised.
Not just that. They move here and make a fortune here ....taking advantage of our freedom and our culture and our system of government....
and then proceed to demonize and try to change (for the worse) the very system that made them filthy rich.
To say that they are morons would be redundant. They’re leftists....lol.
Holy cow -- that is some zingy stuff right there.
Excellent work, Gutman!
Or how about Letterman. I haven’t watched that guy in 20 years because of his fanatical leftist commie rantings and those comments he made about Palin? Even if they paid me 5 figures to watch his show I wouldn’t do it, seriously. The guy is a subhuman piece of pig vomit.
Then you have:
Geena Davis
B.A. Drama, Boston University
Mensa member (min 132 IQ)
Not exactly A list I know but still.
So there's little difference between the real guy and the roles he plays, as I suspected.
Think Brook Shields graduated Princeton and Jodi Foster graduated Yale. Tommy Lee Jones graduated Yale. Was Al Gores roomate.
Fux news? Really?
How witty.
I am no fan of Fox News, but Fux News?
Really? This is cutting edge wit, and snappy rejoinders from the great Jim Carey.
Color me less than impressed.
So he is one of the few known cases of fatal brain freeze? Heard it was cold in Canada but this one is really chilly.
I am not sure the fact that these folks did not finish college makes them better or worse than anyone else.
While I despise their politics, the obviously have the drive to succeed in their chosen field.
College is perhaps THE biggest scam in the post WWII era.
An Actor?? you are giving him credit for him being an actor...?? I don't...
It depends on your major.
Nice
NOT
Unless you are an engineer or doctor, most of what you learn in college is not really applicable five years into your career.
There has been such a focus on college=success that it has become a huge debt bubble. You will do just as well with a two year technical degree and a bunch of ambition as you will with a business or liberal arts degree.
While you may not be using that knowledge after five years, good luck getting hired in the first place. Companies need a way to filter applicants, and most use college for entry level hires.
That said, I’m taking engineering. There are an insane amount of business degrees, that one now needs an MBA to distinguish oneself.

Dropped out of College.
