Thanks for the wishes, and it was my pleasure to serve. :)

I forget who said it, but it went something like “The worst thing for any entertainer to do is voice their opinion on politics because right there they will lose half their audience no matter what side they take”.
********************************************
I read a few days ago that it was Johnny Carson who made that statement once, when he was asked about his political affiliation.

I would agree that his four-star status has slipped to three, and I doubt if he has any great audience showings (this only hindered it more). If you lined up a hundred people...his humor only appeals to those between fifteen and twenty-five years old.

He was a mediocre supporting actor as the Riddler in the Batman franchise.

Not as good as the guy on the old TV show though.

I think it took a lot to piss her off to say something like that about another person...That’s not her nature...

And to be honest she has had many other opportunities to say something similar to other folks as well...

Something about Carrey’s bit really struck a nerve with her...

It depends on your major.

...to an extent that’s true...but I majored in accounting, and the jobs I had all required college degrees, so far so good...but the work I did actually used stuff I learned in the 101 part of the curriculum...at the end I was trying to figure out stuff like how to merge major domestic and international corporations and audit their activities for fraud...stuff that the average accountant never even gets near to doing without years of on the job experience...

...since experience trumps theory every time, college past a certain level is a total waste of time and money...

...since experience trumps theory every time, college past a certain level is a total waste of time and money...

...and while nwe’re at it, Mr. Brigade, might as well throw in half of high school education being a waste as well...anything past the ability to read the national language proficiently, how to attain a certain eloquence in writing and rhetoric, and how to function aptly in arithmetic matters are all one needs to be successful...the fact that we’ve managed to gum up education with dross like exotic mathematics, foreigh languages, and drama and poetry are regrettable...

...please understand I don’t consider learning the above dross useless...I am currently studying Latin and have progressed enough to read and translate after a fashion...simply saying what could have had less impact on a youth of high school age needing a foundational education than such mental frippery...

I’m in electrical engineering, so it matters. It’s impossible to get an engineering job without a degree.

Many majors are a waste of time though.
