I guess that would depend if you felt that having an oz of pot, deserves jail time.
I do know people who have gone to jail over this issue, now was it long, no, always less than two months and most just got probation.

The trial, which began Monday, also will feature testimony about alleged gang activity, which raised safety concerns in at least one juror. U.S. District Judge Paul Cassell tried to reassure the jury, saying that no special security procedures were needed in the matter. "This is just a routine type of case we're handling here," he said.
Angelos is charged with 20 counts of distribution of marijuana, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm with a removed serial number, money laundering and for using a controlled substance while in possession of a firearm. He faces up to 135 years behind bars if convicted on all charges.
From drug friendly Rap News because he had famous rap stars testifying for him.
I personally I'm not wildly opposed to marijuana legalization but have no use for the lying they use to get it. This is far more than a simple case of possession. That said, it does seem excessive but that has nothing to do with marijuana.

President Bush took drugs? I don’t recall ever hearing that.

From what I’ve been told, the pot ban was only the result of some Democrat pol making it his main election point, something to carry him. Before that, it wasn’t even an issue.

Even if that story is true, “using” and “trying” are not the same thing. This story indicates that Rand Paul is not so different from his father, who is a nutcase.

Paul seems to have forgotten that Bill Clinton’s brother said he has a nose like a vacuum cleaner and hedged on the “did not inhale” comment about smoking pot.
Bring forth those who said they snorted coke with Boosh. You stand a better chance to find someone who went to college with Obammy and few if any character witnesses have stepped forward.
Rand Paul should pick his battles.

Ask Willie Nelson how minimum sentences work. He carries enough pot and mushrooms to be categorized as a dealer and he continually walks.

LOL, Bush admits it on tape! Come on now.
To: AppyPappy
The infamous Bush did cocaine because we think he did. The accusation labeled by hipster doofuses who DID do cocaine and never leveled the "frat boy" charge against Boosh's competitors or the "cokehead" charge against Obama who DID admit to cocaine (and pot and dog eating).

George W. Bush
admitted he tried marijuana. It's not a big deal. Doesn't affect my opinion of him one way or another. It's just weed for goodness sakes.

The more I see and hear from Rand Paul, the more it appears to be his father’s son! The fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree...
To: trisham
Yes, he admits taking drugs on tape to Doug Wead. So there!

Do you think it is appropriate for Rand Paul to be comparing George Bush to Barack Obama?
To: JohnPDuncan
You previously said that he claimed that he had “tried” marijuana. Make up your mind.

That's a very good question.
I think it's a cheap trick, and that Rand Paul should be ashamed of himself.

agree with every word.
Shame obama did not get jailed for his druggie ways as we would not have such a dope head today pushing his anal feces sex agenda.

Here’s a question for you: why would someone who doesn’t use drugs be working this hard to make them legal? Simply because he’s concerned about poor “kids” in the “inner city”?
