Harry Reid shoots down Feinstein gun-ban bill
The Washington Times ^ | March 19, 2013 | Cheryl K. Chumley

Sen. Dianne Feinstein emerged from a closed-door meeting with Majority Leader Harry Reid on Monday — but her ban on assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines didn’t.

Mr. Reid turned down her attempt to bring her ban on 157 different weapons and ammunition clips aboard the Democratic Party’s comprehensive gun bill, Politico reported.

“My understanding is it will not be [part of the base bill],” said Mrs. Feinstein, California Democrat. “I would like to [see it moved], but the leader has decided not to do it. … You will have to ask him [why].”

Her bill instead will have to go forth separately or as an amendment — and that means it’s probably not going anywhere.

Gabby’s hubby for one. said he’d turn it in to cops, though. ask the dems you know if they’re going to follow his example.

Incrementalism via the dialectic. That’s all this is.

The answer is...it will go in as an amendment to a completely unrelated bill in the middle of the night in a committee session.

Let’s hope this ban stop takes some pressure off of the ammo hoarding, so I can go get some more bricks of .22LR.

“If a bill is pushed Boehner and the House had darn well better stop it.”

Therein lies the problem!

She’s a real testimony to what California has become

Problem is, Harry can’t stop their defeat next year. Gun owners have long memories, and they no the gun grab started in DC by the Dems, and has cost many their rights on the state level.

They will be held to account as though Feinstein’s bill had passed in its entirety.

Nice try Harry!

Harry told her that first we have to register them. Then when we ban them we know where to go. When you get Universal Background Checks you have paperwork on where all guns are.

Say what you want about Reid. But, he has an A+ rating from the NRA, and that is one of the main reasons he is still in the Senate.

I hope you’re right but I tend to be very cynical when it comes to predicting what voters will do.

Watch and learn grasshopper. The bill will be to for all firearm sales requiring background checks. Swine’s amendment will fail and the Senate will pass a bill that supposedly closes the “gun show loophole”.

Then it will be illegal to sell a firearm without a background check anywhere, any time, and now the local FFL dealer will have a record of the sale.

Then in 5 years when her stupid bill comes up again and it passes they already have the paperwork to know who and where the firearms are, so they can make a midnight visit to confiscate them.

See Current California actions for example of National Confiscation plan.

You are correct maybe Schumers bill about safe gun storage that criminalizes teaching someone to shoot at a informal shooting range ,or loan a buddy a rifle during deer season as unlawful transfer of firearms.
