That's one obvious hand waving in our faces.
Where is the other hand? What is it doing?

Wow that’s too bad.
I was hoping to get EVERY senator on record with a vote on this.
Harry: do it for “the children”

They’re not serious. This is all grandstanding for the base. Oddly, I don’t think the base wants gun control either as I know two Democrats who have recently run out and bought their first guns.
To: jazusamo
I do not trust Tom Coburn to not give them cover to get at least something they want.

Looks like all those years of experience in the Senate didn’t do her much good, I wonder if Sen. Cruz is chuckling. LOL!

"Harry Reid shoots down Feinstein gun-ban bill . . ." The last time DiFi passed a gun control bill, it led to a Republican takeover of the House and Senate.

Exactly - with this piece of theatre out of the way they can concentrate on “common sense” legislation like universal background checks, aka registration and, hence, confiscation.

This is old time gamesmanship. The Marxists prefer to slowly boil the frog.
First they propose the huge bill, then decline it in favor of the smaller bill to show they are reasonable.
Thus everyone feels like they have had a small victory.
And the Marxist slowly take away your rights.

The last time DiFi passed a gun control bill, it led to a Republican takeover of the House and Senate. And Harry remembers that. Right now Harry has his eye on taking the House and keeping the Senate in the mid-terms. He knows a gun bill now is political poison. When/if the Dems control both houses, THEN Harry and DiFi will quickly ban guns. Count on it.

It has served its purpose as cover for the bill they’re actually going to pass.
Here is hoping the House can stop it, because the ‘Pubbie pukes in the Senate won’t.

This was all kind of predictable, the left was just pushing the goal posts while they could.
The one hand got its base all riled up and loving them because they were finally so tough on guns.
The other hand wants to preserve their majority in the senate.
They'll move the goal posts until enough people are fooled by their rhetoric, and then they'll become actual gun grabbers rather than gun grabber wannabes.

If a bill is pushed Boehner and the House had darn well better stop it.

Strategy II is now in play.
Tax the living bejeezus out of everything gun related to the point the tax becomes so punitive and the consequences of failing to pay the taxes so high, people will turn in guns.
This of course will not end well. Either way they will get what they want.
