Coffee or green tea drinker? Don't put that cup down: Those beverages may lower your stroke risk if they're a regular part of your daily diet.
Researchers discovered that people who drank at least one cup of coffee a day lowered their stroke risk by about 20 percent compared to those who drank it rarely.
Compared to those who rarely drank either beverage, those who drank at least one cup of coffee or two cups of green tea a day had a 32 percent lower chance of having an intracerebral hemorrhage, a type of stroke that occurs when a blood vessel bursts and bleeds inside the brain. Intracerebral hemorrhages account for 13 percent of strokes.

Next week there will be a story about how coffee and tea will kill you.
YES! MORE COFFEE!
A cup of coffee makes me feel like i was just charged with rape and murder......Meaning VERY nervous.
I hate that because i realllllly like coffee......
“...The study shows that men who donate blood every six months or so may reduce their risk of having a heart attack by up to 88 percent, and their risk of having a stroke by 33 percent...”
Maybe you can find the right strength — possibly mixing regular coffee with decaf, so you can enjoy the taste, without the negative side effects...
This is very interesting, I haven’t heard of this.
Thanks for posting it.
Fresh cells. I donate four times a year.
I still think exercise and diet matter more.
“Next week there will be a story about how coffee and tea will kill you.”
Yeah, but the cause of death will be different. It’s like all the “Ambulance Chasing Shyster Lawyer” commercials on the tube. This drug you are taking to fix this or stop that, causes you other problems or kills you. I really like it when they essentially list all the problems for which you can sue, including death, and then they say “call us.” Just wonder how they are collecting from the dead people who call for assistance?
I think I’d have a stroke if the coffee ran out.
Eh....I rather just avoid it nowadays.
One cup of coffee can ruin my entire day.
I don’t even drink Coke anymore.
Flavored Seltzer is my bev of choice nowadays....and beer.
it’s good but still kinda sucks.... :)
teat drinker at v20% vs the guy that drinks 8 double jack and cokes a night?
I wants them to spend a few weeks and see who wins.
Please pick up the red courtesy phone.
That’s good. I’m a coffee and green tea drinker who’s danger of stroke goes up 20% every time I see or hear Obama.
Few people who would benefit — older people — would find their blood accepted (due to medications they take). Your statistics are based mostly on younger people who have very few heart attacks and strokes anyway.
