Philadelphia girl searched, berated for having a gun made of paper at school

A fifth grader at a South Philadelphia elementary school made the mistake of pulling out a gun constructed out of paper in class last week.

An official at D. Newlin Fell School searched the student, Melody Valentin, in front of her entire class, reports FOX 29. After the search failed to turn any more weapons (paper or non-paper), the staffer intensely scolded the little girl – also in front of the whole class.

Valentin explained that she had attempted throw the contraband away, but a boy saw it and notified administrators.

Describing the paper firearm, the girl’s mother, Dianna Kelly, said it looked similar to a folded sheet of paper. The little girl’s grandfather had made it for her the day before, she added.

Valentin told FOX 29 that she had put it in her pocket and forgotten about it. She said she only got it out to throw it away.

She added that her classmates had jeered her and called her a “murderer” after the incident.

According to Kelly, the taunts and the dressing down in front of her classmates were allegedly too much for her daughter to take. The fifth grader has been suffering from nightmares, her mother told FOX 29.

“Why did he threaten my daughter?” Kelly asked, according to the Daily Mail. “Why did he stand over my daughter and tell her that he should call the cops on her. Why did he try to scare her?”

So instead of going after the grandfather who made the gun for her and the parents who sent her to school with a gun (remember, they don't distinguish between real and fake. to them a paper gun is the same as a real gun)they take it out on the kid. Shouldn't they have had the grandfather and parents arrested?

They are preparing the next generation to hate guns.

Take it back now.

Or please God help us all.

I think the Grandfather should have gone over to the school and kicked the teacher’s ass. This crap is getting ridiculous. Bullies and tyrants running our schools. They are brainwashing the children to be gun haters.

I’d arrest the teacher for child abuse. If I were that parent, I would sue and then I’d get my kid out of the public schools so fast, a vacuum would develop behind me.

If this were America, that is what would happen. But in Acirema, the land of backward, we go after a fifth-grader.

dressing down in front of her classmates

Libs would call this child abuse and have her fired if the teacher made fun of a gun-grabber kid.

I wish every parent in the country would have their kids all bring paper guns to class every day and pop tart guns to lunch every day until this crap stops.

"National Bring Your Fake Gun to School Day."

I wonder what they would do to a parent who had a paper gun in the building?

To be fair, they can look realistic to those unfamiliar with firearms

I never really thought about that, but it seems pretty obvious now that you've said it.

This is a punishable offense. You will be publicly tarred and feathered for the mere display of that image.

This IMO is EXACTLY what needs to happen. No amount of litigation is going to stop these would be despots. They need to pay a more "intimate" price for their tyranny or it will keep getting worse. We are at war with those who would destroy our way of life. It is time to start to act that way. If you sit on a jury in a trial of someone who smacks one of these idiots ... find them NOT GUILTY !!!!

No civilization has lasted long as King of the Hill when there was a death of faith, a degeneration of morals, contempt for traditional values, a collapse of culture, a paralysis of the will, a decline in its native born population, and foreign invasion that wasn’t resisted. “

They are training your Kids to hate! The Kids get a Gold star if they Hate Guns!!!

Paper guns can be among the most dangerous since they’ll sail right though the school’s metal detectors!

I think we need to ban “schools of education”; that is where all stupid “educational” ideas start.

Why wait until something happens? All Christian parents should pull their children from the public schools. If we had done so at the time of integration, things may be very different today!

Notice how they name the student and family, but the school officials remain safely anonymous?

In my book, as a potential juror, most any accused that was charged for a nonviolent offense against the government (and in some cases like this, righteous violence), my vote would be a resounding and immutable NOT GUILTY!)
