9-year-old boy who police said was killed by his father with a hatchet was identified Wednesday afternoon as Matthew Hernandez.

Incomprehensible. Can’t wrap my head around this.
What is wrong with people? Off the top of my head, I can recall 3 other hatchet/meat cleaver attacks in the last week or so.

He’s been in prison for espousal abuse and yet he had custody of his two sons. Why was he even allowed out? Whomever was responsible for releasing this man from prison last time should also be brought up on murder charges.

Does make one wonder. I just absolutely cannot understand how anyone in their right mind could commit such a horrific act. He may have been out of prison for a while but apparently his previous convictions were for espousal abuse so he had a whole lot of rage going on because of something.
