Lets see. The kids attacker gets a two day suspension. On the other hand, a kindergartner gets a 10 day suspension for telling a friend she was going to shoot her with soap bubbles. On top of that the school labels her a terrorist threat and makes her undergo psychiatric evaluation.

You hardly ever see this happen at homeschools

Schools have absolutely no idea how to deal with bullies.
It's been a major focus -- they talk about this stuff all the time. They've put a lot of thought into it.
They've called in experts across the nation, and really tried to get a handle on this "bully" thing.
Schools have been seeking an answer for well over a hundred years.

And schools have absolutely no idea how to deal with bullies.

In that respect, it's kind of like teaching math, English, or history. They don't know how to do those things either.

This was an organic beatdown as opposed to that horrible chemical bubble attack.

Interesting that they didn’t say much about the boy’s attackers.

Bullies and bad academics may have been a problem in the past, but it was LESS of a problem when the spirit of the school brought God into it, and was less indulgent of general misbehavior.

Once upon a time, schools knew how to do a lot of things right. Never perfectly, of course, but they turned out a lot of well-adjusted, well-educated boys and girls at one point.

But, really, not so much in my lifetime. The government schools have almost willfully moved away from any techniques that might lead to success. Getting God out of the classroom was their first really big mistake.

I would rather eat beans and rice every day than send my kids to a public school system that teaches the doubt of God, and is full of disrespectful kids and adults, for that matter. What an utter disgrace.

The kid is from Darby, I don’t know which school but I know the town. Could very well have been a racial attack.

Bailey, we (me and mine) will be fervently praying for your complete medical recovery and a subsequent long, full and satisfying life.

And also for your family, that God sends the Holy Ghost to them for peace and hope in the one place where it may be found - in Jesus Christ.

DITTO. 1900 US had about 100 million people, 80 percent were poor (factory laborers or farmer), 20 percent cannot read, only 6 percent grad high school, women and people of color were not equally treated, no gun laws, yet ..... entire number of people murdered in the entire US for that year was only 230. The city of Chicago in 2012 had over 500 murders. I always challenge liberals to figure out what Americans did in 1900 that is different from today to have such a low murder rate.

Hard to stop bullying when kids admire bullies and cheer them on.

What profit is it to gain the whole world, but lose one's soul?

God bless you.

Homeschooling is the best decision we ever made for our children.

To those who are deciding, remember this. Your children will be with you for a long, long time. A little investment up front will provide a lifetime of benefit.

"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."

Once upon a time, schools knew how to do a lot of things right.

I don't believe it. I think people turned out OK in spite of schooling.

Take at hazard one hundred children of several educated generations and one hundred uneducated children of the people and compare them in anything you please; in strength, in agility, in mind, in the ability to acquire knowledge, even in morality—and in all respects you are startled by the vast superiority on the side of the children of the uneducated.

— Leo Tolstoy, "Education and Children" (1862)

It takes missing faith sometimes to teach people how to appreciate it.

Well yes... and so what? It’s not comparing the lot of educated CHILDREN, but children OF THE EDUCATED. Education does not pass to heirs via DNA. Surprised? (And also as long as the education is not MIS-education, their societies will be better and the children WILL benefit from that.)

Schools push this “conflict resolution” nonsense...which equates the bully to the bullied...and the criminal with the victim.

When I was in school, the way you handled bullying was a good swift uppercut to the bully’s lips and jaw....when blood starts oozing out, the bullying stops

Schools are poorly run...and the GOP is also to blame....because instead of firing teachers to cut budgets.....they refuse to fire the administrators who make these crazy stupid school rules. Schools are liberal nutcase because of those running them
