GOP: With big Latino vote, Rubio would win presidency (Survey: Rubio would get 48% of Hispanic vote)

He's already being treated like the 2016 GOP presidential front-runner, and now there is another reason Republicans are excitedly buzzing about Florida Sen. Marco Rubio: He alone would reverse the party's slide among Hispanic voters.

A new nationwide poll from JZ Analytics found that Rubio would get 48 percent of the Hispanic vote, about twice what Mitt Romney won in 2012. Republican strategist told Secrets that a win among Latino voters that big would assure Rubio the presidency, since he would also likely keep the regular GOP base.

"If he does that good, then he's the next president," said a senior GOP official. "It makes him The Man, I guess," added the official.

The poll, provided to Secrets, did not indicate why Hispanics like Rubio, other than his story growing up in Florida as a child of Cuban parents is well known. He has also joined the bipartisan Senate effort to reform immigration.

Since when do we get exactly what we want in life? This is the real world and it isn't fair and nothing is perfect.

If you have a perfect candidate that says every last thing you ever wanted to hear, good! Fight for them! And if they do not win, fight against the other team.

Its not a game where you just get to vote and stop caring. If we had elected Romney then we would have had the opportunity to lean on him as hard as we could to push him right. Its a constant fight.

You can stay home and refuse to play. But I guaranty the game will go on without you and it is only YOU that will become irrelevant.

I understand you are passionate about your beliefs. I am too. I just do not believe that sitting on the porch pouting solves anything. Of course its ok that we do not agree. And really you should be happy after all, Romney did not win.

See that “likely” in there? That’s the kicker. Since the Supreme Court hasn’t ruled on this particular issue, all people can do is bat around how they “likely” would rule if it came up.

Once “race” becomes the criteria for selection of the Republican candidate, it’s all over for conservatives (at least insofar as expecting the Republican party to represent their interests is concerned).

BTW, it’s refreshing to see the notion that “Hispanic” is now being regarded as a “racial category” of its own. Too many Euro-Americans remain in denial about this. Many Hispanics — soon to be a majority — regard themselves as such. If not a full-blown race, at least something of a quasi-racial/ethnic demographic designation...

Media trap sets for third time in a row. The media picked Romney and McCain now it makes it run at Rubio.

Come on people wise up. He would be my pick, but it sickens me to see the media come around with their straw man tactic again.

Mark Levin believes Rubio is nbC.

Sometimes, Mark is wrong, just like the Supreme Court is sometimes wrong, we have the Roberts decision to prove that.

So you're admitting the courts don't agree with you, and your response is to act like a child and misspell my screen name?

Like I've always said, I will trust the opinion of a constitutional scholar like Mark Levin over that of the birther keyboard commando's. Rubio was born in Miami, Florida. He is a natural born citizen and is eligible to be President. No court is going to rule otherwise. The end.

Yes they are, but the Founders were careful to describe the difference between Citizen and Natural Born Citizen, something that either escapes you, or you are purposefully being disingenuous.

Rubio was born in Miami, Florida. That makes him a natural born citizen.

That does not make him an NBC, regardless of what the current courts may or may not decide.

Continually posting this lie will not change that and as far as I know the Court has not decided this issue. Up until now common sense and fourth grade reading skill have been adequate.

It takes a lawyer to confuse the issue. Hath God said.......

It won’t be forgotten by me.

I have voted Republican in every election (and most primaries, as well) since 1990. But if amnesty passes, and Rubio is elemental in that passing, I will withhold my vote in 2016. It’s that simple. (I won’t be voting for any “Bush” either, nor for Chris Christie.)

I am but one vote, and I’ll admit that there’s no chance that ANY Republican can win my state again, ever. But I sense there are quite a few in this forum who feel the same as I.

As you guys continue to support Romney, and promote the idea of supporting future Romneys, you don’t seem interested in winning or what it takes to win.

Your candidate lost an election that was impossible to lose, to Jimmy Carter the second, the republicans ran the most Obama like candidate in history, against Obama, and seem puzzled to learn that people didn’t get enthused like they did when Reagan, (who Romney opposed and voted against) ran against the first Obama in 1980.

Fours out from the next election, and here you are fighting to for the next Romney.
