From the article: “ Several of the teens with her at the time, however, were believed to be gang members.”
The company you keep...
That is what happen when a honor student hangs out with a group that include gang members.
Key words: “Just performed at inaugural”..........don’t get too close or you will be cut cold
You got it.
The ironic thing is that, you do not hear about these shootings that are going on in Chicago in regards to the issue of “gun control”. But when it is a suburb such as Newtown, CT, low and behold the “gun grabbers” go CRAZY.
I would say this is a case that the perpetrators of this incident were not aware of the existing gun laws. It would help if more people read the law, and kept the law. Like crossing the border into the USA without going through a U.S. Immigration agent and showing a visa. But hey, THERE ARE REWARDS in this system, to just cruise on.... Chicago, a very safe place, just ask the Prez, he came from there, and made it was it is today, a composite of all of his great ideals.
Meanwhile, ballerina Emmanuel runs his mouth about gun control. Maybe he should do something about crime in his own city.
Damned shame. Maybe they should have some sort of gun control or something.
So, she had no gang affiliation, other than the people that she was WITH when she was SHOT?
Sometimes I wonder if reporters read what they write.
Just being picky, maybe, but the term “gunned down” seems to imply that she was the target. More likely she was collateral damage.
Lie down with dogs, get up with fleas.
Where’s Rev. Al ?
But hey, wasn’t the community organizer who just got reelected from Chicago? Bet her parents - dad probably missing - voted for the 0 hole. These idiots deserve the cities they create, and I don’t want them coming to me for help. My give a damm meter is worn out for the dim cities.
>>>Quite obviously she did indeed have gang affiliations, and in so doing, made herself an intended target.<<<
Possibly, but due to the shoddy reporting, typical of the MSM, it is not entirely clear whether she was “with” the gang members in the sense that she was friends with them, or if she happened to seek shelter from the rain under the same canopy as the gang members.
Her profile, honor student, volleyball player, band member, clean cut appearance, in what appear to be recent photos (unlike the Trayvon baby pictures), make me think she probably wasn’t gang affiliated.
In the end, it doesn’t really matter. This is the fault of the NRA, the gun manufacturers, all responsible gun owners and those who believe in a 10 Amendment Bill of Rights and of course, most importantly, the evil GUN that maliciously and of its own volition, chose to murder this girl, like all GUNS will eventually do, if they are not confiscated. /sarc
They were taking shelter from the rain, so, no, she may have had nothing to do with the gang members. Gun control would not have saved this honor student. Eliminating the gangs would have.
Would a background check have saved the gorl? Was she killed ny an “assault type” weapon.?
Happens all the time.
Our side does not understand the dynamics of chicago politics. In Illinois gun control is used as a distraction and part of the propaganda war against conservative minded white voters, nothing else. The authorites never go after guns in Chicago because that means going against the base for black politicians. Yes folks gangs are an important part of the black political base. Years ago Jesse Jackson held a news presser with several black elected officials calling for the release of Larry Hoover, imprisoned drug king pin of one of the biggest gangs in Chicago. To his credit Mayor Daley went after the lowest minded black and hispanic politicians, the ones with gang connections but he never dropped the gun control stupidity.
CBS 2s Mike Parker reports the victim, 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton, was taking shelter from the rain with a group of 10 to 12 teenagers under a canopy in Vivian Gordon Harsh Park on the 4500 block of South Oakenwald Avenue around 2:30 p.m., when someone jumped a fence, ran up to them, and opened fire.
At least some of the people with her were from her school volleyball team. It's not clear whether the gang members were part of the volleyball team or not.
She was an honor student. I'm sure her parents were really proud of her. She was 15 years old and had probably a wonderful life ahead of her. By the way, this was not a kid from a normally high-crime neighborhood:
Jennifer West lives right near where the victims fell. She said shootings are rare in the neighborhood.
We hardly have any crime. Theres been a few break-ins over the past two years since weve been here, but nothing thats ever caused alarm, she said.
Elsewhere on the web it says her ambition was to become either a pharmacist or a journalist:
Her life was dominated by her activities and the things she was into, he said.
Ive known this little girl her entire life," added Lakeisha Stewart. "I cant think of a moment that this child did anything wrong. She always strived to do the right thing."
From all appearances, she seems to have been a lovely young woman in every sense of the word. She played in the band, played volleyball, was an honor student.
Gun control in Chicago has failed. This is one victim of the result of the policies in that liberal-run city.
And now we have a Chicago politician trying to impose the same on the rest of the country.
