Okay, Bob. But's let's be BLUNTLY honest.

The NY bill simply could not have passed without votes and help from Republicans who actually controlled the NY Senate at the time.

This is a tough question for the Christian gun owner. Romans 13 and 1 Pet. 2 tell the believer to obey government.

How about in this case?

You maybe correct if it comes to this. They will be moving to Pennsylvania.

You can bet your a$$ that buried somewhere in the actual legal language of the bill, or planned for implementation of the law in state agency rules will be a directive to certain business to turn over copies of certain Federal Forms they now hold. Those forms being the Forms 4473 the gun purchasers used when LEGALLY purchasing the guns in the first place. It is the only way they can find out who has what and enforce the confiscation.

As a Christian I am not called upon to obey laws that run counter to freedoms that were endowed to me by my Creator.

If I were a LEO or in the military and my government told me to fire on protesters, I would not comply.

“How Many New Yorkers Will Defy The New Gun Law?”

It isn’t safe for us to say, those who live here.
They’d single us out, separate us out, isolate us and make lone examples of us while releasing fictionalized press releases over it.
Yes, Cuomo and his henchmen are that paranoid.

Romans 13 and 1 Pet. 2 tell the believer to obey government.

It's a real dilemma for inerrancy advocates, literalists and Sola Scriptura followers, isn't it.

I am an inerrancy adherent. I will not comply and I am completely comfortable before the Lord on this.

Sure!
Worship this golden calf statue, or this golden effigy of Nebuchadnezzar as it goes by and you hear the flutes pipes and drums.
Embrace sin and evil because government told you to, after all you must obey the government, right?

Sorry, you’ll be hard pressed to find peole to bow to Molech with you out of obeyance.

UM, no,they dont tell you that. When this country was founded certain legal documents defining the govts role etc were agreed upon by the govt and people. Fast forward to now that agreement is (and has been) broken by the govt. We’re in no way compelled to obey a govt thats overstepped its authority.

Good thinking but that’s already prohibited by Federal law-———————not that Cuomo and friends actually know what the rules really are. I mean, they already have trouble understanding that “-—shall not be infringed.” part.

At the very least, people who object to this law can do everything they can to peacefully decline to enable the State to function. They can protest every property tax levy. If they can reduce or eliminate their sales tax levy, they should shop as much as possible online or where sales taxes will not go to New York state. The can defer every possible expenditure. In short, to stop sending money to Albany.

Im pretty sure the state cant, w/o a warrant, compel an FFL to produce any 4473s. If I were an FFL Id have already contacted by lawyer about this. In fact I think Id store my 4473 in a location not easily found that was secure.

I hope New Yorkers tell Albany go to hell, or minimally ignore the law completely.

Sent this to the Atlanta Journal on 1/27/2013

In her recent column (”Cuomo shows how to get gun control laws passed”), Her Enlightened Royal Eliteness Maureen Dowd displays her customary abysmal distain for and understanding of the citizens. These are citizens who – despite the best efforts of Dowd and her progressive pals like Cuomo – STILL revere and grasp the significance of the Constitution. They understand that the Founders DID NOT leave us a Second Amendment to hunt. Judge Napolitano points out that the Second Amendment provides a means to shoot at an increasingly out-of-control tyrannical government such as that headed by the likes of Obama and Cuomo.

If these insulated Park Avenue elitists don’t stop pushing their agenda, there is a strong likelihood of a live fire reenactment of the April 19th, 1775 events in Lexington and Concord in our future.

If reports of resistance to firearm registration from NY are correct, Cuomo may have started it.
