It is almost as if they know this issue is a loser for them and they put this in there on purpose. Not to mention the presser where it was stated that the 223 will blow up large animals. Either they want this to fail, or its a very bad parody, on par with an SNL skit.

Maybe if a bill like this gets signed into law the owners of these weapons should turn them all in to the authorities in Washington on the same day. 40 million gun owners bringing their newly illegal weapons to Washington, along with the ammo they will no longer need would be a patriotic gesture. I’m sure our overlords would like to be present for such a show of mass obedience so we’d have to make sure the congress and the administration would be in town for the event. April 18 or July 4 might be a good date for the festivities. Any thoughts?

I’m not some jackass like every liberal I’ve ever talked to, who throws around the word “freedom” as though it’s mere mention will make me free or saying it over and over will endow understanding of it. I actually understand that had I been born in some worthless shithole in the middle-east, I would have already been murdered for having been born with gender dysphoria.

My life is a gift from God, but the fact that I’m still alive is a tolerance by my fellow citizens and a testament to the document we’ve agreed to live under.

I am morally certain where my line is. And no one should cross it: nothing on Earth is more dangerous than “certain”.

government officials and others will be exempt.

So the law will affect the law-abiding common folk but the not the lawless -- criminals and government officials.

How appropriate is that.

My response to any legislation coming from Washington or liberals these days: You First.

If sexy black guns are evil, you disarm first. If they serve some law enforcement purpose, then obviously they aren’t inherently evil and thus do not require banning in the first place.

If concealed carry is inherently evil, you disarm first. Obviously your security has no need of hiding their weapons since it serves no useful purpose - if that’s wrong, than the same applies to the people as well.

If there’s a gun free zone, but you still insist on your security having guns anyway, then you don’t believe that gun free zones work, and thus such limitations shouldn’t apply to the people either.

Diane, you are a citizen of the United States, just as your security teams are. You want to push forward this bill, I want you to go out in front of the cameras and say, “Well, actually, yes, we are more equal than other citizens, and thus deserve special benefits and privileges.” And then you’ll point to the place in the constitution that permits this.

But you won’t. And the scary part is that there’s not one major media reporter who will challenge these yahoos on this or any issue.

Smart local sheriffs can nullify this law by simply deputizing every gun owner in the county. :)

“The United States prioritizes the right to keep and bear arms over the protection of citizens’ lives and personal security...”

Damn right we do! But more to the point. More innocent people were slaughtered by out-of-control governments in the 20th century than all the violent crime and civilian mass shootings in human history combined. The average human being in the 20th century was many times more likely to die at the hands of abusive government than from any form of civilian crime. Gulags, concentration camps, and mass genocide are not the purview of deranged individuals. They are the product of governments that have achieved too much power (and the megalomaniacs who lead them).

How on earth can people not see that getting rid of guns is far more deadly than having them?

Given the choice of trusting my neighbor with a so-called assault weapon, and trusting some bureaucrat in a government office. I choose my neighbor. People of principle realize there are worse things in this world than being gunned down by a nut-job. Living without freedom is worse (and actually more dangerous on the average).

Call your Senators.

Today.

Don’t let the momentum build, like they are trying to do in VA today.
