The petition has reached 25,000 signatures. (And yes, the screen shot is real - I happened upon it at exactly the magic number!)

TOPICS: Your Opinion/Questions
KEYWORDS: banglist; braking; guncontrol; hypocrisy; secondamendment
There was a proposal earlier to kind of flood Drudge with the news. A suggestion: Also mention that today (I think it was today) the White House raised the petition limit to 100,000.
Hmm. Wonder why?
To: Jeff Winston
And I saw an article the other day that the White Hut raised the # of petitions needed to garner a response LOL

After Obama gave his speech today, complete with children props, as he said law abiding citizens don't need this and that.
Following, they went to break it was followed by I believe a Chevy Corvette commercial. I would imagine that car would do 140 mph.
It begs the question, why does anyone need a car that travels over 70 mph?

The new limit apparently applies to new petitions; this one “sneaks” in at the 25000 amount to warrant a response, whatever dribble that may be. The main point is, it is done, and sigs now are gravy on top. Great to know so many like-minded 2A freedom lovers make their claim to their rights to this abominable regime.
Thanks E.PU for your persistence on keeping FR with fresh threads!

Are we sure that this petition ‘sneaks in’ at 25 or did they define previous petitions to include only those that had been officially verified before changing the rules?

We need to submit a petition that the White House not be allowed to raise the quota beyond 25,000. What a frickin’ coward to dodge admission that guns are OKAY if they’re protecting HIMSELF and his family.
To: Jeff Winston
I’m offended I can’t go see the president give a speech without being around people with guns. What if something happened and they all started shooting like the wild west. Don’t they care about the children

It begs the question, why does anyone need a car that travels over 70 mph? Because in the Great Plains most states have 75 mph speed limits and don't bother enforcing speed restrictions until you're at least 8 mph over the posted speed. Distances are great here and it's a waste of my time, and everyone's time, and consequently a drag on the economy, not to drive 82 mph on the interstate, weather conditions permitting.

Naw, cars that go over say, 70mph should be outlawed..
They’re unsafe and Americans have no need for cars which travel 140mph. So lets get government to legislate new laws which restrict all new cars made from speeds over 65mph. Why does anyone need a 100 mph car?
Think of all the lives that will be saved. Lets do it for the kids!

It's unsafe, and no one needs a car like that. They are just too dangerous. We need new legislation which will restrict new vehicle speeds to 75mph...No more.

Of course their response will go along with the title of this thread, not the wording of the petition.
They will say that they will create a Gun-Free Zone Around the President, VP and their Families.
But to protect the King...whoops...the Present Obama, VP and all politicians and all White House staff members, all Muslim friends and allies of Valerie Jarrett (the man behind the curtain) and anyone else deemed part of the elite of America they will of course have to have armed guards.
And of course Hugo Chavez and Mahmud Aberjhani and Bill Ayers (unrepentant terrorist who wishes he would have bombed more police stations, etc) and probably Charlie Manson...and what the heck Marlyn Manson too.

What response? Privately, it’ll be. “I’m the f@#$ing President of the f@#$ing United f@##$#ing States! I matter. My security is important. Who the f@#$ do you think you are, demanding that I go without my armed guards? Even the f@#$#ing Queen of f@#$#ing England has armed guards when she goes out boutiquing, and she doesn’t do s@##! I govern. I’m the leader of the f@#$#ing free world! Netanyahu put you up to this. Didn’t he?! This is some kike conspiracy. I just know it! Those people are always up to something. Well, f@#$ you! You get the gun-free zones. I get the Secret Service!”
Publicly it’ll be: “ Um. Uh. Um.”

I’m concerned about golf clubs. Remember the Kennedy relative, Skakel? Didn’t he beat a girl to death with a golf club?
No one needs to have golf clubs. If banning them saves the life of even one child, it’s worth it.
There is no peaceful purpose for a golf club. It is used only to hit things, including people.

Am thinking about a petition to ban all pay for congress, the _resident, all elected and unelected in D.C. receiving taxpayer payout checks till the debt is lowered 16 trillion dollars or attains a balance of no debt owed. Yes, the elected and unelected will ignore anything which tries to show them how ignorant they are, for the truth is our elected and unelected think it is the People who are ignorant. So much deceit and avoidance of being statesmen and stateswomen by our elected and unelected, and just send us your money and sit down and shut up from our elected and unelected. Has there been one petition with a sound proposal accepted by our elected or unelected. No we still hear the noise of what is the meaning of is and what is a sound proposal.
