The petition has reached 25,000 signatures. (And yes, the screen shot is real - I happened upon it at exactly the magic number!)

There was a proposal earlier to kind of flood Drudge with the news. A suggestion: Also mention that today (I think it was today) the White House raised the petition limit to 100,000.

Hmm. Wonder why?

After Obama gave his speech today, complete with children props, as he said law abiding citizens don't need this and that.

Following, they went to break it was followed by I believe a Chevy Corvette commercial. I would imagine that car would do 140 mph.

It begs the question, why does anyone need a car that travels over 70 mph?

The new limit apparently applies to new petitions; this one “sneaks” in at the 25000 amount to warrant a response, whatever dribble that may be. The main point is, it is done, and sigs now are gravy on top. Great to know so many like-minded 2A freedom lovers make their claim to their rights to this abominable regime.

Thanks E.PU for your persistence on keeping FR with fresh threads!

Kind of an aerobics thing, get your pulse and breathing rate up...but you can remain seated.

Are we sure that this petition ‘sneaks in’ at 25 or did they define previous petitions to include only those that had been officially verified before changing the rules?

Duh, do you think that B. Hussein Obama will finally stop using his stupid expression: “Everyone deserves a fair shot?”

We need to submit a petition that the White House not be allowed to raise the quota beyond 25,000. What a frickin’ coward to dodge admission that guns are OKAY if they’re protecting HIMSELF and his family.

I’m offended I can’t go see the president give a speech without being around people with guns. What if something happened and they all started shooting like the wild west. Don’t they care about the children

Because in the Great Plains most states have 75 mph speed limits and don't bother enforcing speed restrictions until you're at least 8 mph over the posted speed. Distances are great here and it's a waste of my time, and everyone's time, and consequently a drag on the economy, not to drive 82 mph on the interstate, weather conditions permitting.

Naw, cars that go over say, 70mph should be outlawed..

They’re unsafe and Americans have no need for cars which travel 140mph. So lets get government to legislate new laws which restrict all new cars made from speeds over 65mph. Why does anyone need a 100 mph car?

Think of all the lives that will be saved. Lets do it for the kids!

It's unsafe, and no one needs a car like that. They are just too dangerous. We need new legislation which will restrict new vehicle speeds to 75mph...No more.

Besides, if it even saves one child, it's worth it.
