Gov. Rick Perry released the following statement regarding President Obama's executive actions:
"The Vice President's committee was appointed in response to the tragedy at Newtown, but very few of his recommendations have anything to do with what happened there.
"Guns require a finger to pull the trigger. The sad young man who did that in Newtown was clearly haunted by demons and no gun law could have saved the children in Sandy Hook Elementary from his terror.
"There is evil prowling in the world - it shows up in our movies, video games and online fascinations, and finds its way into vulnerable hearts and minds. As a free people, let us choose what kind of people we will be. Laws, the only redoubt of secularism, will not suffice. Let us all return to our places of worship and pray for help. Above all, let us pray for our children.
"In fact, the piling on by the political left, and their cohorts in the media, to use the massacre of little children to advance a pre-existing political agenda that would not have saved those children, disgusts me, personally. The second amendment to the Constitution is a basic right of free people and cannot be nor will it be abridged by the executive power of this or any other president."
since you showed it to me first, ping
In other words, Obama just got ‘Rick Rolled’.
I so wish he had been elected President. A huge loss for oir country.
I like my Governor.
Statements like this need to be repeated over and over and over by every conservative, no matter what the subject is. The Left want to play hardball, let's play.
He said the word “evil.” In liberal la la land, there is no evil, no good, no right, no wrong, no free will. He will be ripped to shreds by the left for this.
And he is right.
There ain't a whole lot to be added to that right there.
I wonder if the Republic of Texas is interested in expanding its borders? Annexing a couple of states might well be an avenue of clearing up that issue of sovereignty. I can see the people of several adjoining territories liking this if Gov. Perry continues to support the rights of the people.
I just emailed the Texas website link & the text of the statement to my governor here in NC, suggesting that he issue a similar statement.
I like him too! He can become a resident of Alaska when he’s done down there!
On the heels of Texas announcing the arrest of any Feds coming into Texas to mess with Texans and their guns, Ricks remarks today are a nice punctuation mark.
Very well said.
Our problem is not a matter of law, it is a matter of evil people who violate any and every law.
There ain’t a whole lot to be added to that right there.
Well if he had not had that major brain fart in the debate he might have had a chance albeit a slim one. I know I couldn’t support him after he lost it in the debate. He looked so stupid. Its a shame because he is a decent conservative.
Right On Govenor !!
The Sandy Hook shooter was not a legitimate gun owner. His mother rest her soul left weapons out knowing there was a mental health problem!
The Boy King just let one mentally ill person dictate to the American populas what will control their lives.
0 has no leadership skills but a crazy dead man does!
Corrected to say. the mother knew there was a mental health situation!
