One abstention one this resolution, Democratic Supervisor Andrew Stewart, who "wanted more time to study the issue, and the wording of the actual resolution." The fallout continues, especially as the law of unintended consequences becomes apparent, the potential impact on national security and terrorism. Calling the Urinal-Spews staff foolish and naïve would be too kind.

Liberals never concern themselves with consequences, intended or otherwise. Their anti-gun or pro-abortion agenda overrides everything.

Read article twice.
My understanding , under cover cops posing as “bad guys” would only have guns illegally .
Flagging them as having permits , shows their not who they say they are.
First hunch is they’re cops by the bad guys.

I thought police didn’t have permits.

He's an idiot. It was always the law that the names were public information. The media just did the work.

The problem is the 'permit' not the news publishing public info.

The Chief is attacking the press, instead of trying to remove the permit process, so every American can have a handgun in their house without first asking permission from the King.

Why would they need permits?

Smash their presses and shut them down. Sue them to poverty.

Y’know, I had never even considered the aspect of undercover police officers being “outed” by that stupid “gun map”

I’m wondering now just how many undercover investigations have been potentially compromised by the arrogance of those idiots at the Journal News. On top of all the private citizens who already have also been put at risk, of course.

The liberal mind thinks gun owners are at risk by printing names and addresses.. It never occurred to them that single females WITHOUT guns were put at greatest risk.. What fools the media are for doing as the 0bama regime told them to do. You can bet Holder gave the order. A-hole EH!

The gay lobby was successful in having medical records so extremely private that anyone in the healthcare industry releasing them, however inadvertently, warrants fines that basically put them out of business. Why can’t the gun lobby assure that licensing and ownership are NOT matters of public record. That would be “closing the barn door” for now, but would be helpful to future owners/licensees.

One of the fringe benefits of gun ownership is that everyone, not just gun owners, enjoys an umbrella of protection by keeping the identity of the actual gun owners hidden. Criminals are deterred by not knowing which home owner is armed to the teeth and which has little more than a dull butter knife for protection. By outing the gun owners, the newspaper has removed an effective crime prevention tool.

Looks like they stuck their little hotdogs into a soup full of piranhas.

Exercising freedom of the press does not allow compromising law enforcement operations or exposing matters of national security.

I hope they’re shut down, and the leakers prosecuted.

May God bless and protect all the exposed undercover agents.

All very well and good to protest after.

Where were the protests when the Journal News requested the info?

Under New York law, every county, city, town, and village is required at their annual reorganization meeting to designate a newspaper for the publication of legal notices. This is a big source of revenue for the Gannett Rags. The municipalities should protest with their wallets and designate another newspaper.
