Here is some excellent analysis that shows that swimming pools kill more children than guns, despite the fact that we have more guns than swimming pools in this country:

When you factor in the number of pools relative to that of guns, the analysis shows that a child is 52 times more likely to die in a swimming pool than by a gun shot. We need to outlaw swimming pools, in order to save the lives of children. I am all for pool control. We must fight to ensure that the pool builders lobby does not undermine our attempt to save the lives of children.
Why is Obama not holding a press conference to denounce the lack of pool control, and introduce licensing for people who own pools? Is it because guns are more effective at stopping communism than swimming pools?
If we can save even one child’s life by outlawing swimming pools, it will be worth it.
Why don’t we just get to the core issue and outlaw water?
I always wait five days before going into a swimming pool. It’s a cooling off period.
Is taking a cool dip in your swimming pool so important to you that it’s worth the life of even one of our precious children? Are you some kind of a monster?

The thing that scares people about guns is that they make a loud noise and people bleed when they are hit.
Swimming pools, bathtubs, alcohol, drugs and hospitals kill many many many times more people than guns, but they do it quietly and usually alone, so people don’t notice.
That which is a danger to children does not matter.
What is a danger to totalitarian government is what matters.
The reason the Media is not scared of pools is you cannot stop a Jack Booted Thug with one.

Did you know they PURPOSELY ADD CARBON-DIOXIDE (a dangerous greenhouse gas!) to their drinks?
That is what the bubbles are. I cannot believe this criminal behaviour is allowed to take place.

Medical malpracttice deaths run around 100,000 anually these are mostly wrong dose or wrong drug. We should ban drugs doctors and hospitals
Cars, trucks, SUV’s - now these are killers! Outlaw them!
Planes kill people - outlaw them....

National statistics support that medical and doctor mistakes cause 9000 more deaths in the population than guns.

Stop giving them ideas. Diving boards have already disappeared (I only know of one pool within 30 miles with diving boards...).
While we’re at it, let’s also ban the trucks that deliver propane and gasoline so some nutcase doesn’t hijack one and plow it into a building full of people.

Most towns won’t tell you but they consider pools a public nuisance.
Ask any building inspector. If the codes got any stricter, they’d have you filling them with concrete.
