Kerry Bentivolio did as well.
He’s the new tea party backed congressman elected to Thadeus McCotter’s old seat.
“......most notably New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, a Republican.”
Hardly, that pig is nothing more than an Obama butt-boy.
—Good for Scott Perry .
At some point the West Coast will be in DC asking for earthquake relief.
They are doing the right things since the democratic bill is full of pork projects and wasteful spending. We need people up there to think about the spending vs. adding onto it. Imo.
The Sandy relief funds should NOT have been pulled from the Fiscal bullshit bill.
This Sandy bill represents one quarter of one percent (0.25%) of the 3.9 trillion dollar Fiscal Cliff liability. Sandy was a 100 year storm that leveled communities. WTF?
The GOP should have voted NO on the Fiscal Cliff bill, and YES to this relief bill.
Good for him! The darn thing was loaded with pork
Was this voted in with all the pork in it? If so, both Bachmann and Cantor voted FOR it. WTH?
The jerk sold out when Obummer came and promised him truckloads of Obamabuck$ in the wake of Sandy.
Of course, this is going to be played in the media as "heartless and evil Republicans vote against feeding poor children and helping the poor victims of the tragic hurricane Sandy".
What they will intentionally leave out - he voted against forcing our Great-Grandchildren to pay for what isn't the US Government's responsibility (indeed - such aid is unconstitutional and truly UN-American).
These folks need to take a lesson from the old story of Horatio Bunce....
My hat’s off to him.
It’s good to know there are some incoming conservatives that know how to say “No.”
A pleasant surprise since he was pretty much handpicked by RINO Todd Platts as a successor.
Do New York and New Jersey not have legislatures of their own? But then the question will be asked “well where will they get the money?” which begs the question “where does the Federal government get the money?”
I watched Senator Schumer today. He was very concerned about the businesses not being able to function, that if the Congress didn’t send the money to rebuild, then taxes would go up exponentially in NY and NJ to pay for it. Yet he seemed not a bit concerned when two days before, he voted to tax those same businesses so they will have less money. And Senator Schumer has never shied away from regulating businesses with Dodd-Frank and Osha and the EPA, etc.
Of course, Senator Schumer doesn’t give a damn about any of the businesses, or the people they support. He wants the revenue. He wants the corporate taxes and the business taxes and the sales taxes and the income taxes and meals taxes and the permit taxes.
And of course he wants the construction unions to work (slowly), so that there will always be a need for more and more money taken from people whom the storms did not affect. It’s a textbook example of why local government is best. And it’s very telling that the very richest area of the country, with supposedly the brightest minds who look to the hinterland with utter derision, cannot even take care of themselves.
Want to start containing spending? Pass a law that bills can only contain items that pertain to the bill.
OH yeah, that'd be SMART. ;-)
Those New Jersey Shore homes are owned by 1%'ers who rarely by the kind of insurance required because they think they own the House of Ill Repute in D.C. (CONgress)
The porker with the loud mouth has already soiled himself during the closing days of the campaign for POTUS and has irreparably stained his own credibility beyond comparison!!!
