I also believed him because we all know he would NEVER have went on vacation if some of his subjects were still in trouble, he would have been manning the scissors..

Two months ago I said that I would like to see the polls tell these poor people that they are screwed. So to make it easy I will give what they are telling the people. We will let you rebuild your house provided it does not exceed %50 of the value of the home. Some time in your rebuilding process we will change the flood zone. This will require you to build your beach cabin one foot above the flood line, Oh Yes we will require flood insurance. Only the well to do will be able to do this.

SOMEwhere there's an inbox that sits on the desk of someone who knows damned well what's in the inbox and does absolutely nothing about it.

Staten Island is the most conservative part of NYC. Staten Island voted for McCain in 2008 and narrowly for Obama in a city that is overwhelmingly liberal. Obama is just engaging in a little social re-engineering and the media won’t report it.

I know Staten Island isn’t Obamaland, but the fact is that NY state is (as my state - NJ - is). Anyone who can leave does, and nobody wants to invest in the state because success is punished. Here in NJ property taxes are so high that old adages (like you would get back more than any money invested in a home) simply don’t apply anymore because the tax burdens make monthly mortgage payments so high for any prospective buyer. I believe that if these properties were in a better tax/economic clime no expense would be spared to get them back into shape; in this area the states are in such poor financial shape they probably won’t take action until the feds pick up 110% of the bill (the extra 10% for the customary graft associated with Dem states, unions, etc.).

Nope, there are areas in Queens, Nassau and Suffolk that have not boted for a GOP POTUS in decades, were hit just as bad as Staten Island and are seeing the same inept response. It is just FEMA as usual - a royal fustercluck.
