Jeremy Clarkson, a British television personality who hosts the popular BBC program Top Gear, weighed in on the controversy surrounding fellow Brit CNNs Piers Morgan. Clarkson tweeted on Monday:
Americans. It took us 40 years to get rid of Piers Morgan. Pleasse don't send him back. 24 Dec 12

The Top Gear host also tweeted:
Americans. Was the second amendment not introduced to protect you from the tyranny of the British? Piers Morgan in other words. 24 Dec 12

Following the deadly shooting at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut, Morgan insulted second amendment advocates on Twitter and called a guest on his CNN show, Larry Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners for America, an "idiot," "dangerous" and an "unbelievably stupid man."

Look Jeremy, if we have to keep Piers, than at least be a sport and take Michael Moore.... and we'll call it even.
Jeremy Clarkson is a riot and Top Gear is not to be missed.
Taking the piss. No doubt the top gear guys are freiends with Morgan. Same sense of humor.

Yeah, I think so too. I would not be elevating Clarkson to hero status just yet.
No it’s true. I spent a lot of time in the UK in the last dozen years or so. They cannot stand him there. He is referred to as a “useless twit”, which is generous in my view.
From the UK Daily Mail, a few years back:
“The Top Gear host has had an ongoing feud with journalist-turned-TV personality Piers Morgan.
Clarkson famously punched Morgan in front of journalists at the 2004 Press Awards after the latter published photographs of the car enthusiast kissing his female boss four years previously.
Morgan admits he was hit three times, ‘two to the right temple and one to the forehead’ and was left with a scar above his eyebrow.
In an appearance on Parkinson, Clarkson admitted he was ‘ashamed’ of it, declaring it had been the first fight he’d ever been in.
He said: ‘We don’t get on so I punched him.’ “
Clarkson’s a hoot-and-a-half — don’t get him started on global warming or the Toyota Prius (among a whole host of topics on which he’s riled up the politically-correct weenie-contingent).
Who? Clarkson or Morgan?
I think this public feud is hilarious!
You go get’m Jeremy!!!!!!
Never seen the Brit version either.
Watched the US version a few times and a few of them were pretty funny.
Clarkson insults America and Americans on a regular basis. He’s just another fat, ugly a-hole.
Let’s hand New Zealand an ultimatum: Either they let us base American nuclear-powered ships there, or they take Piers Morgan. Either way, we win.
Jeremy Clarkson has huge bollocks and cares not that his observations of fact are savaged by the effete snobs of political correctness of a once great country.
Yeah, I think so too. I would not be elevating Clarkson to hero status just yet
You obamas know nothing. Piers Morgan is not loved in England. Clarkson may be the only one to have hit Morgan (three times at the 2004 British Press Awards, after Morgan had printed a "news story" about Clarkson's private life) but others have wanted to
I'll do yer! Night at The Ivy when Robbie Coltrane took an irrational dislike to Piers Morgan "Irrational" is probably not accurate
Morgan has fallen out with Top Gear's Jeremy Clarkson, models Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss, Private Eye editor Ian Hislop, Cherie Blair, ex-Sun editor David Yelland, Sopranos star Vincent Pastore and, after publishing faked photographs allegedly showing soldiers abusing prisoners in Iraq, large portions of the British Army. And you can add Billy Connolly and Stephen Fry to that list.
Close enough, although Billy Connolly's words were "talentless wanker"
“Never seen the Brit version”
I think the Brit version of Top Gear is the best show on TV, period. I’m not a car guy, so maybe I shouldn’t like that show, but those 3 hosts and the things they do with cars, is downright hilarious.
One of my favorite things they did was strap a car to an actual rocket, with boosters. The landing was not smooth...
I am, and its a riot. It’s just a great show.
True. The PRIUS episode is one of the funniest episodes uploaded on Youtube and he practically ridicules the liberals blatantly.
Of course, Jeremy has a hint of not liking Americans either in the redneck’ episode when he tapes in the US.
The Brit version is a hundred million times funnier than the US version. UK TG fans will get the “hundred million” joke.
The Prius part starts around 3:30.
So who is really Stig nowadays?
I love the show and Clarkson can drive a bit himself
Drivung a Skoda Yeti, he beat the Stig driving a Ferrari 308 GTS in a one lap race around Donington Park Racing Circuit
Just drop him by parachute.
New Zealand disbanded their "air combat wing" some years ago.
Revised plan approved.
I'd like to see a video of that.
The British version is hilarious. They’ve clearly got a huge budget and get away with things that would put the American crew into eco prison for life. Its a pretty conservative greenie bashing show where they incorporate guns whenever possible.
Clarkson insults everybody kind of like a British Don Rickles but was truly in awe of Jay Leno’s car collection.
Piers Morgan feudWiki
From 2000 to 2006, Clarkson had a public feud with Piers Morgan, which began when Morgan published pictures of Clarkson kissing his BBC producer, Elaine Bedell.
On the final Concorde flight, Clarkson threw a glass of water over Morgan during an argument. In March 2004 at the British Press Awards, he swore at Morgan and punched him before being restrained by security; Morgan says it has left him with a scar above his left eyebrow. In 2006 Morgan revealed that the feud was over, saying "There should always be a moment when you finally down cudgels, kiss and make up." Clarkson also mentioned that despite not getting on with Morgan, he can at least be in the same room as him.
Top Gear UK is our family’s favorite show.
I watched about 5 minutes of the U.S. version; changed channels, never watched it again. It’s rubbish.
OTOH, could the Argies even afford enough gas to power a dingy there?!?
You’re thinking of a multiple trade thing. Ship Morgan and Moore off to the Falklands. They can give up the islands and we’ll send a carrier group to help keep Morgan and Moore on the islands.
NO. That's actually the selling point of the UK version.
US version: Not Even Rubbish.
Excuse me if I am wrong, but isn’t Piers Morgan wanted in Britain for wire-tapping?
Perhaps he could find asylum in Cuba or Venezuela.
RIGHT ON!I’ll DRINK TO THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ll second that! That show is in a Class all by itself. The Crossing the Kalahari Desert in Clunkers episode, The Three Wise Men, Vietnam, The Bolivian Rainforest, The Cars of the Cold War episode, the Race to the Magnetic North Pole, and all of those other crazy “Races” are simply Masterpieces, imo.
Their “Journey to Bethlehem” episode was a scream. Even my wife was laughing.
I think you are being a bit thin-skinned. Jeremy Clarkson has a go at many people and things - he regularly insults the french, the germans, the australians, vauxhall, environuts, the UK government and many other targets.
I think you have to trade in the same weightclass. To unload Moore, we'd have to take back Madonna too.
He insults everyone.
Thats his TV persona, his ‘schtick’.
Jeremy is pretty much of an asshat himself. I like his show even though he’s always gotta throw in a few BS comments that show what he’s really about. And his car reviews are garbage. I can’t be the only one who’s noticed that in their reviews Jaguar, Aston Martin, and Alpha Romeo can do no wrong but Porsche, Ferrari, Audi, and BMW are “droll” and “boring”. Range Rover, the king of unreliability, is “brilliant”? Sure.
I thought it was funny that they came over here to do a show but at the last minute, to maximize inconvenience, the major American car makers wouldn’t provide them cars for review because of their unfair reviews. They reviewed the Corvette GS like it was a Yugo. (With remarks like, “American cars are all such rubbish,” keep wondering why they did that, Jer.)
I love the challenges. The car reviews are rubbish. Just DVR the show and fast forward past that.
Well, I think better of Jeremy already.
I agree...our entire family loves it. Its good for the kids in the sense they go to a lot of places all over the world and you get a glimpse of culture. Plus, It's funny.
What about the epic Reliant Robin journey from Sheffield to Rotheram?
I’ll never forget the British Top Gear episode where they played darts with cars...using cars and the James Bond stunt car launcher to fire the cars from a cliff down onto the dart “board” on the floor of an open pit mine.
Without a doubt one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen on TV. I know that it is on youtube. Check it out.
