WASHINGTON (CBS DC) The word lunatic will be stricken from federal law under legislation that passed the House by a vote of 398-1 on Wednesday.
The congressional action is the most recent effort to eliminate language from the U.S. code that has become outdated or demeaning. Two years ago, Congress removed references in federal law to the term mental retardation.
The only no vote was cast by Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, who said in a statement that, not only should we not eliminate the word lunatic from federal law when the most pressing issue of the day is saving our country from bankruptcy, we should use the word to describe the people who want to continue with business as usual in Washington.

The odds are that the single vote is NOT from a lunatic.
I may be crazy
But it may just be

Perfect timing for the retards in Congress. Supporting linguistic activism from the sociopaths of romanticism/feminism/progressivism is more important than the lives of children.
Tending to the most pressing issues of the day I see. /s
Hey Congress! (ya morons)
Did you know that one of the collection of collective nouns for a group of baboons is “congress”?
(FWIW, “flange”, “rumpus”, “tribe”, “troop” are also applicable...)
“And here we are sweating loaded guns, when we should be focusing on unloaded mental health patients onto the streets.”
Bingo. When we accepted changing the language of concrete reality to that of soft euphemisms, we entered the era of accepting feelings as facts. Reality is no longer a fact, it’s a feeling.
Because of this we closed down viable institutions, not always perfect, but viable. And some “experts” came along and labeled the institutions as un-feeling, de-humanizing places and thought that the best place for the patients who lived there would be “the community”.
Once freed from these evil institutions, the “clients” would go to “community based clinics” and take their medication and take advantage of all of the services that the clinic would provide.
I can go and on and on, but you get the picture.
It failed, miserably. But no one will admit it.
It might make somebody feel bad.
Bad timing there, chief.
Why? Was the Moon offended?
Now, what word can we use to describe Democrats since we can no longer use “Lunatics”?
Suggestions? Freepers. Have at it.
*Just plain fu*king crazy
Awesome. I’m glad the lunatics on Capitol Hill had enough free time on their hands to get this done.
I agree. Then you also had the Leftists putting out movies like “One Flew Over the CooCoo’s Nest” and everyone immediately vilified (in their own minds) electro-shock therapy.
Then folks were set up to think that mental health facilities were so mean, and vile.
Never-mind that some people can’t function without help like this.
Our Leftist media gets it wrong so often. It’s a real shame, and very destructive.
Joins “idiot,” “imbecile,” and “moron.” Can “cretin” be far behind?
They have redacted the term “Islamic Terrorist” from the lexicon, so this only makes sense.
I see the inmates are still running the asylum.
