More government. Well, I'm just all for it. But why don't we call it, oh, say... the Committee for State Security?
To: Tailgunner Joe
I'll say this for Dennis T Menace
He is consistent.

Ah yes, another blotted bureaucracy that will accomplish absolutely nothing except waste taxpayers money.

Hey genius, how about throwing out the RoE that’s getting our troops killed overseas?

“Department of Peace.”
To be run mostly by members of the Religion of Peace, to be sure.
Seriously, this is about the most 1984 Newspeak bureaucracy proposal I’ve heard.

As with all things liberal (er, now “progressive”), he who controls the meaning of the words controls the outcome of the discussion. What, exactly is Kucinich’s definition of “peace”?
I suspect that the Prince of Peace is not part of it. But it probably would not conflict with the “religion of peace”.

Here we go MINITRUE, MINIPEACE, MINILOVE. George Orwell was a prophet in the modern world.

another 60’s style Utopian idiot. why don't we just have our military carry white flags instead of firearms? that way our enemies would sit down to discuss our differences with us before they shoot us. The same with cops and gang thug criminals.

Why doesn’t Kucinich lead by example and open his own department of peace on the south side of Chicago?
To: Jeff Winston
The first order of business for the “Department of Peace”, of course, will be the purchase of 4.5 million rounds of hollow point ammunition.

Beat me to it. But it does beg the question, how would the Department of Peace go about enforcing its regulations?
