I was wondering how strong the FreeRepublic presence is on Twitter. I've been on there since October, and I've noticed that a lot of conservatives on Twitter end up getting temporarily suspended due to a spam-report bug that liberals are able to exploit? So far, I've been suspended 6 times in the last 2 months, mostly over my opinions regarding Benghazi.
Conservatives on Twitter refer to the temporary suspension as Twitter Gulag. Many have attempted to bring up the spam-report exploit to Twitter, but they deny it exists.
Have the Freepers on Twitter found a way to negate or lessen these Twitter suspensions?
I was getting hounded last night by a radical leftist LGBT because I tweeted about Prop8 and DOMA. I was going back and forth with her, pointing out how ridiculous her statements were(she claimed that 25 percent of the world is born gay). Anyway, the back and forth culminated with her threatening that I would be the first conservative scumbag whose blood was spilled by the LGBT revolution if the SCOTUS doesn't rule in favor of gay marriage. Needless to say, as I went to block her on Twitter, I realized she had exploited the spam-report bug on me, and I am now suspended again from Twitter.
I'm thinking I will be spending much more time on FR now, since these forum actually allows the free expression of conservative ideas. I fully believe that Twitter is aware of the spam-report exploit being used against conservatives, and they just refuse to address it.
Has anyone else encountered this Twitter Gulag?
I’m excellent at firing up liberals. I know all their arguments, so I exactly what to say to set them off and I can actually support my beliefs with facts other than semantics.
I really just need to get my followers up so I can avoid these ridiculous spam-report exploits.
I’m just delighted I stumbled upon Free Republic. As a young conservative, I’m surrounded by liberals in everyday life, so it’s nice to know, there’s so many people out there fighting the good fight.
This has happened to me and I’m a Twitter newbie. I did wonder how the heck that happened because I certainly did not spam anyone.
I saw that hashtag. I think I used it a few times.
How do people get up to 10k followers?
Good to have a youngin’. We have some here. I will warn you though, I was fairly young when I started many moons ago. (ha!)
What is your name on Twitter, I will give you a follow.
“It doesnt do anybody any good.”
Unfortunately Twitter is used more and more for politics. If you opt out or don’t fight, someone else’s ideology becomes the norm. Twitter is where politicians “get the message out”.
oh I’m not the one to ask about that.
When I was sent to Twitmo I only had 60. Now I’m close to 600.
There are people out there buying followers somehow.I’m not sure what the fun is in that.
I just keep bumping into people and we follow each other back.
Fridays are a good day to participate in #FF where you recommend people, and sometimes they do the same for you.
Yes! Someone included me in a #FF on Friday and I wasn't sure what it was.
Twitter is fun though. It took me a long while to really get into it.
I like doing the threads like ObamaDrinks or ObamaChristmasSongs--they are a lot of fun. Makes me really, really miss Breitbart though. ):
I see my poetry has no impact at all.
Well, if they put a rope around the businessman’s neck and suspended him with the intent of causing death, he was “hanged” not “hung.” Maybe he was also “hung” but that is WAY too much information. *grin*
So, yeah, you did have some impact; I got to tease — and I *love* teasing (I hope humorously).
:wq
I can change that. lol.
My main: HawkHogan2012 is currently suspended. I have a backup account HawkHogan2k12, but I’m nowhere near as active when I don’t have my main account.
What’s your name, I’ll give you a follow, once my suspension is gone. I think I messed up the appeal process because I said that the other user made a violent threat against me. I didn’t get the usual appeal email, so I’m not sure what’s going on now.
