Boko Harams violent jihad against Christians in Nigeria pushed the West African country into seventh place in annual rankings of countries impacted by terrorism, lending weight to calls for the State Department to reconsider its decision not to designate the group as a foreign terrorist organization.
Nigerias ranking in the latest Global Terrorism Index, released this week, marked a shift from 12th place a year earlier, from 16th place in 2008, and from 30th place in 2005. The top six countries this year are Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, Yemen and Somalia.
Most recently, ten Christians were reported to have been killed last Saturday after suspected Boko Haram attackers set alight houses and knifed inhabitants in a mostly Christian part of a village in Nigerias far north-western Borno state. Three days later attackers in another northern state, Kano, shot dead two policemen and threw homemade bombs at a bus, wounding several people.

obama must be ecstatic. The only thing that would make him happier is if they were killing Jews.
Violence against Christians? Who cares? It only matters that people feel “uncomfortable” around Christians. Tolerance toward the intolerant Islamists is the new “civil rights” issue. The Left hate Christians so much that they don’t care about supporting the radical Islamists who want to perform clitorectomies on young girls, force women to wear black pillow cases and push stone walls over the heads of homosexuals — that’s considered being tolerant of other cultures to the Left.
“The future must not belong to those that slander the prophet of islam” but in that part of the world it apparently belongs to those that slaughter Christians and we give them arms and aid.

AND decline to call them the terrorists and barbarians that they are. islam is swarming, diabolical treachery that destroys anything in its path, including themselves.
We can be thankful that they are responsible for the birth of the US Marines and Navy I guess. As a buddy that knows them quite well says “They are cavemen with machine guns”.
Notice that the current occupant of the oval office NEVER condemns attacks against Christians by his co-religionists?
Wonder why?
The only safe Christians in Nigeria are the ones that traveled there to pick up the $23.4 million being held in a special account by the ex-Nigerian Minister of Finance, as the Christian visitor was instructed to do in various emails.
Once the Christian has paid Msr Atawambay Nitulio the required “holding fee”...uh...maybe not so safe then.
...lending weight to calls for the State Department to reconsider its decision not to designate the group as a "foreign terrorist organization."The Obama administration had a good reason for that decision -- professional courtesy.
India? ? When was the last time a christian got killed in hatered?? any1,sum1 or no1. Well in India ,the Air chief Marshal is a Catholic,so is the Defence Minister.CNS should shutup and outsource jobs to India. Am sure we can get facts right than this B.S
CNS is merely the the news group reporting on it.
Perhaps this isn't how the news works in India?
No, those nice people from Nigeria that always trying to give me money can not be terrorists?
The GTI ranks countries based on the following four indicators weighted over five years. This is not a rating as to who is a terror-sponsoring nation either (Nigeria is not one, unless Boko Haram takes over their government; and India certainly is not one), but as to how many times terror attacks happen in their borders and how bad the outcomes are. Just so happens that Christians are the primary target of Boko Haram in Nigeria. Each of the factors is weighted between zero and three, with fatalities having the highest weighting, and a five year weighted average is applied to reflect the lasting psychological effect of terrorist acts over time.
- Total number of terrorist incidents
- Total number of fatalities from terrorism
- Total number of injuries from terrorism
- Estimated property damage from terrorism
