Is this from the same administration that lied repeatedly to the American people about what happened in Benghazi and has yet to come clean?

I hope the Idiot in the White House has enough sense to keep our troops out of harm’s way. If he doesn’t, he needs to be impeached.

Wait!

I thought it was the evil Buuuush who said that we needed to intervene in Iraq because Sadam had chemical weapons. Our best intelligence said he had them. Not only that, but he'd already used them on his own people. But that was bad and wrong.

And now the saintly good and true 0sama administration is saying that we'll intervene in Syria's civil war if Assad uses chemical weapons. Our best intelligence says that he has them. But this is different and oh so very very good.

I just want to make sure I have all this down. Because I would never ever accuse our commie-elite-political-media-class of being lying hypocrites with selective and self-serving memories and motives.

I hope Assad and the boys predict the weather correctly.

Many bad things could happen, if the weapons are not deployed accurately.

Would be real bad if something goes "wrong," and Israeli civilians and troops are killed. Not to mention Christians in Iraq and Lebanon.

The U.S. getting ready to be involved, the Turks are spooked, Ivan, and the Persians are going to be pissed. Not to mention Hamas and Hezbollah wanting their virgins.

Call me crazy, but this is the stuff of Biblical prophecy.

Bullcrap. I saw a story yesterday that special self propelled artillery “designed for shooting gas shells” was sneaking out at night and deploying. Self propelled 155, is self propelled 155.
And the story said the windy conditions made it more likely that he would use it. in using gas, wind is not normally your friend, especially in a middle eastern desert environment.

And the “US Official” is another Obama lackey who is trying to stir us up to get involved there. Even if they do gas watch other, why does that mean it’s an American problem?

And suddenly, our inept intelligence agencies that couldn’t predict anything in the last 3 decades, including the fall of the USSR, that Kadaffy had a nuclear program, 9/11, Benghazi, the vile outcome of the Arab Spring, etc,,,they are CERTAIN that Syria is loading the precursor chemicals? I call BS.

This is Obama, looking for an excuse to help yet ANOTHER nation fall to the wahabbists of the MB.

Assad would be signing his death warrant by using such weapons.

And despite the hysteria as a dreaded “WMD”, gas is an idiotic thing to get all lathered up about, to the point that it drives our foreign policy.

Gas was slightly effective in WWI for 3 reasons. It was poorly understood, trench warfare was highly static, and last,, European battlefields were soaking wet, filled with shellholes, trenches, bunkers, and low lying areas where soldiers sought cover.

Gas artillery in WWI involved sometimes as many as 18,000 shells being fired into the target area in order to achieve a useful concentration level. They needed to deliver in the area of 100 to 160 tons in the average attack. And in modern highly mobile warfare, even the rebels would suffer a few casualties and leave the area.
Then it sucks for your own guys who you send in there.
Add in that it would invite hysterical reactions from around the world and NATO would immediately invade (to make the world safe for democracy again,, i guess) and it all adds up to almost no benefit tactically, for an enormous strategic loss.

Don’t forget, Saddam had gas in both wars we fought with him. It wasn’t used. Part of that is the threat that we would maybe retaliate with a nuke. But the bigger part of it is that it would have been almost useless against a mobile force. Gas is highly overrated.
This is Obama propaganda.

It would make far more sense to just pound them all day with standard 155 HE rounds. It should scare you wayyyy more than a gas round.
If a 155 gas round hits close to your position, you even have a sporting chance to run for your life and get away, especially if the wind gives you an edge. But if an HE round hits, there -ain’t- no running for your life. It got you, or it didn’t.

I am sick of intervention in muzzie countries. If they want to wipe each other out, so be it, as long as we have no personnel there.

“Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton reiterated U.S. warnings to Assad not to use chemical weapons, saying he would be crossing “a red line” if he did so.”

Wow. I’m sure that really scared Assad. He’s probably cowering under his bed in fear of crossing that red line.
