God bless this cop. He demonstrated the love of God and was a true good neighbor...and did better than Obama's welfare state could do in 100 years.

Anyone else remember how homelessness was a big deal when Republicans were in the White House?

And a tourist "cop" from AZ happened to be there to take the pic!
NYPD PR?
On the NYPD FB page?

Good on the cop. I hope the homeless guy can keep his new boots from getting stolen.
My young son last year did a thing with church where they made up brown bags with a peanut-butter and jelly sandwich, a banana, cookie and bottle of water. Then went downtown in a group to pass them out to homeless people they came across.
My son related (with tears in his eyes) how he offered a bag to a very old bag lady, and she politely refused. My son offered it again, and she explained that she couldn’t eat it all right then, and that someone would rob her for the left-overs. So they made a deal and he gave her half a sandwich and the cookie!

Yea, and afterwards, the cop went back and took the boots and socks away from the guy and returned them to the store. It was all a staged PR stunt..........

I guess he’ll never be able to play the “bad cop”
A group in Amsterdam a few years ago, on very cold nights handed out pairs of thick cotton socks with hot baked potatoes in them to homeless people. The idea was that the insulated potatoes would help keep people warm over the night and in the morning there would be breakfast and clean socks.

It's hard not to be cynical now days, but I try when I can to think of these words:
Hub McCane: Sometimes, the things that may or may not be true are the things that a man needs to believe in the most: that people are basically good; that honor, courage, and virtue mean everything; that power and money, money and power, mean nothing; that good always triumphs over evil; and I want you to remember this, that love, true love, never dies. You remember that, boy. Doesnt matter if they are true or not. A man should believe in those things because those are the things worth believing in. From the movie 'Secondhand Lions (2003)

“God bless this cop”
That’s what I would say, too. But I’ll bet under obama’s thinking, this cop would lose his job because it’s not fair that only one homeless person was helped by this cop. How fair is it that only one homeless person should be helped?

Has the world really gone down the tubes this bad that deeds like this are newsworthy? Really? Kudos to the cop nevertheless.

It’s not obamas fault. That homeless guy is a holdover from the bush years.

This story was incredible. What a great cop they have in New York City. Being only 25, at least we have some youth we can count on to continue our great country on the right track after most of on here are gone. We need about 300 million more of them though.

He probably is joking about taking the boots back.
It probably was a PR stunt.
The homeless guy probably traded the boots for a fifth of booze within a few hours.

Can’t it be just a great story. You have to have a conspiracy about everything. I don’t believe it was a PR story at all. It was absolutely a great Christmas story. I suppose you find some of what Jesus did suspect? Turning 2 fish and 4 loafs into an amount to feed an entire group? Someone there also wrote about that....problem with that?

Hey folks, maybe the story is true, maybe its not a PR stunt. Maybe just maybe the cop is a good guy. Believe it, there are thousands upon thousands of good deeds done every day by people who are never recognized by the media. I choose to believe this police officer is one of NY’s finest.

You want to quote for me where it says the tourist was a cop? "I have been in law enforcement for 17 years. I was never so impressed in my life. I did not get the officer's name," Foster wrote. "It is important, I think, for all of us to remember the real reason we are in this line of work. The reminder this officer gave to our profession in his presentation of human kindness has not been lost on myself or any of the Arizona law enforcement officials with whom this story has been shared."
Foster is the tourist.
