Tribal America (Our sudden political obsession with Hispanics)
National Review ^ | 11/17/2012 | Mark Steyn

To an immigrant such as myself (not the undocumented kind, but documented up to the hilt, alas), one of the most striking features of election-night analysis was the lightly worn racial obsession. On Fox News, Democrat Kirsten Powers argued that Republicans needed to deal with the reality that America is becoming what she called a “brown country.” Her fellow Democrat Bob Beckel observed on several occasions that if the share of the “white vote” was held down below 73% Romney would lose. In the end, it was 72% and he did. Beckel’s assertion — that if you knew the ethnic composition of the electorate you also knew the result — turned out to be correct.

his is what less enlightened societies call tribalism: For example, in the 1980 election leading to Zimbabwe’s independence, Joshua Nkomo’s ZAPU-PF got the votes of the Ndebele people while Robert Mugabe’s ZANU-PF secured those of the Shona — and, as there were more Shona than Ndebele, Mugabe won. That same year America held an election, and Ronald Reagan won a landslide victory. Nobody talked about tribal-vote shares back then, but had the percentage of what Beckel calls the “white vote” been the same in 2012 as it was in 1980 (88 percent), Mitt Romney would have won in an even bigger landslide than Reagan. The “white vote” will be even lower in 2016, and so, on the Beckel model, Republicans are set to lose all over again.

Hence the urge to get on the right side of America’s fastest-growing demographic. Only 27 percent of Hispanics voted for Romney. But all that could change if the GOP were to sign on to support some means of legalizing the presence of the 12–20 million fine upstanding members of the Undocumented-American community who are allegedly “social conservatives”

Yep, we could go from 27% to 15%, once millions of third world socialists no longer have to jump through hoops to vote illegally and can now openly campaign for Democrats. That's what happened the last time (1986) that we decided to give a "pathway to citizenship" for illegals, the GOP share of the "Hispanic vote" went DOWN after the amnesty.

>> members of the Undocumented-American community who are allegedly “social conservatives” <<

Ah yes, those wonderful folks that have eight children by three different fathers (none of whom take any interest in their children's lives), love Obamacare, and just helped the "gay community" pass gay marriage in Maryland. If they're "social conservatives", Obama is Jewish.

Our European heritage is out the window now; thanks to unrestricted immigration and other factors, America will come more and more to resemble not Europe, but rather some sort of down-at-heel African republic or corrupt Central American dictatorship.

This is and has always been intended by the Democrats, who seek to maintain power with hordes of immigrant poor sucking away at the government teat and thus giving up their votes with their dependency.

This is America’s future now.

I want the mojados to go home-and no, I’m not a bigot-my family has been living in what is now Texas since the late 1700’s, and ethnically speaking, I’m as hispanic as tortillas de maiz-I’m an American first of all-if I wanted to live in an ethnically segregated country, I’d move to someplace in Europe-like France...

All that needs to happen is to cut off the free stuff to anyone who can’t prove legal immigration status (green card) or citizenship-no lonestar card, no medicaid, no subsidized housing-zero, zip, nada-and the moochers will be gone in a matter of months. Meantime, fortify the borders so they can’t get back in...

Flame away, if you like, but that is how I see it...

From Mark Steyn: “...On my own recent visit to a U.S. Immigration office, I was interested to be told that, as a matter of policy, the Obama administration is now rubberstamping all “fee waiver” requests for “exceptional hardship” filed by members of approved identity groups...”

The sole purpose of such actions on the part of the Democrats is to curry votes from this demographic group.

The purpose of the Obama administration is to collapse the United States and deepen communism here. Oh! And quite possibly the genocide of all white people, which is progressing apace in South Africa under the control of the communists in the ANC.

Anyone notice that most of the Indian reservations voted for Obama, EXCEPT OKLAHOMA!

Add in the death panels expediting the demise of primarily white Republican voters and it's not pretty.

Why go with Hispanics? Why not offer any person's who's Japanese total protection from the GOP - sanctuary cities, the whole nine yards. "Our" illegals will have to silently agree to vote Republican. Sign 'em up as their crossing the border... We can do the same for Bulgaria, Norway, and Sweden. We can call them ‘immigrants’ even though they're coming here illegally ( well, with a wink and nod from us...)

I wonder if the suck ups at the New York Times would offer them a pass and an excuse if they're voting consercvative? My guess is the boys at the New York Times will quickly find their outrage...

Also perhaps via encouraging abortion for whites while encouraging reproduction for non-whites? Recently I have heard of the term "reproductive justice" -- is that what this is supposed to mean?

“Reproductive justice”? I’ve never heard the term.

You might want to read this:

Thanks for the link. It generally seems to be about pro-contraception and pro-abortion issues, but there is also an anti-human trafficking angle.
