Is Petraeus Falling on His Sword?
American Thinker ^ | 11/10/12 | Fay Voshell

Posted on 11/10/2012 2:36:46 AM PST by advance_copy

Was General Petraeus told by the Obama administration to fall on his sword? Was the general told he would be exposed unless he clammed up about Benghazi? Did he decide to blow his own cover before the president could? Could it be he is sitting on stuff that would tempt some in ccongress to consider the president's impeachment -- and Obama knows it?

There are so many unanswered questions.

[snip]

If he is ordered to tell the truth and does so, the consequences for the administration could be catastrophic.

I thought about this scenario but there are very few men left in the world with that kind of honor. As much as I would like to see one in action in my lifetime, I will not hold my breath for a hero.

It would take a massive move on Washington by Patriots.

A march no one could ignore.

Now if it looks like he still might testify we will read about how he committed suicide due to his shame over the affair.

Probably just a boating accident.

Yup, I have little doubt that the General will turn up dead from an obvious suicide...two shots to the back of the head.

Another angle on this:

He was set up and seduced so he could be blackmailed not to testify.

BUT- be called their bluff and exposed himself.

Now he is free to tell what he knows.

He will not be a pawn.

“Probably just a boating accident.”

I’ve been reading that a lot of people have been losing all their firearms that way.

I couldn’t believe it when I heard he agreed to work for that gang. You lie down with dogs, you wake up with fleas!

“Affair.” Yeah, right.

I thought the same thing however, read yesterday that there was a breach of security on the Gernal’s computer which prompted them to check it out which resulted in them finding a cache of emails revealing the affair.

If you are referring to the ad that was taken out...none of them were active duty.

They were all retired...as well.

There are two kinds of Generals: the Warriors (Patton is the prototype) and the Political (the majority.) Patraeus has a Warrior streak but has always been very Political (when at West Point he married the Commandant’s daughter.)

We will now get to examine his true character. He will either tell the truth and face the consequences, or he will try to weasel out of the mess he has made.

My bet is on the latter. We’ll find out when he finally arrives to testify. If he brings a pack of lawyers with him, he is a weasel.

The first thing to come to my mind when it came out that Broadwell was writing her first book about Petreaus was that was the same approach that Rielle Hunter used to pursue John Edwards by filming a documentary about him. It gives them personal access and a way to fawn over them. Something the male ego can't resist.

It’s starting to look like Petraeus did not merit our backing of him when the Dims started calling him “Betrayus”. He meshed nicely with the Leftist Admin and then allowed himself to be compromised.

And if by some miracle he is impeached, there in no chance in Hades of getting the senate to convict.

No? How many dem senators are up for re-election in 2014?

***** “The President may now have a price on his head not placed there by Al Qeada” *****

obama has dissed or thrown under the bus ... The Military, and the CIA, abused the FBI, mistreated the Secret service and what he did to SEAL Team 6 makes Stolen Valor look pale, Holder is leaving...

Folks speculate about Petreaus... no shot was fired at him by the administration but he knew it was coming... the man is a General and this is just a skirmish...

Obama is depleted (I started to use Sailor speak, but depleted works) Benghazi and the Iran attack cannot be hidden by the One... obama is outclassed, outmatched, outgunned, outplayed and his only allies and ammo are the Media and Santa Claus (the Printing Press).

TT

I can’t believe anyone is trying to defend this man. Look at what he has really done in the past, not what he promotes about himself. He has a history of taking credit for good things that happen and getting out of town quickly when it seems things are going to go south.

Did you know that Petraeaus had the bright idea that our people in Afghanistan should get out of their armored vehicles more to be closer to the people? The result was a dramatic increase in legs and testicles blown off due to our people stepping on IEDs. Even when it was apparent that this strategy was a horrible failure, he persisted. When things really started to look bad in Afghanistan, Petraeus came home the hero and left some other commander holding the bag.

Oh, please! Petraeus has been a suck-up since day one. He probably had his eyes on being president some day and everything he has ever done has been with an eye on that prize. He went along with the lies on Benghazi! Where is the man’s honor?

I have no respect for him whatsoever.
